I've had my interview this morning and both the lady at window 22 and the interviewing lady told me that I should receive my passport within a week. I don't believe that though and am mentally preparing for a longer wait. I'll keep you updated if anything moves!

As of now, my CEAC status shows "Administrative Processing", is that a good sign or is that the status that normally pops up after an approval on interview day? (you probably all know that every little bit can make one nervous)

Hi KittyKahlohr, thats a very good sign, it means that your visa will be issued soon or has already been issued (CEAC takes some time to update). I don't think you need to worry about anything, since the technical problems which affected my visa were clearly linked to the fact that my DS-160 was submitted at the time of the hardware failure. Most likely you will receive your visa this week.

After almost three weeks my visa has finally been issued today and is in the mail! I think I will only believe it when I hold the passport in my hand though.

That's great to hear! Thank you so much for your assurance :) I'm happy that your wait finally has an end and I hope that you will find an affordable flight pretty soon! I'm already browsing for flights online, I am planning to leave in about 3 weeks. I will have a layover once I reach the States and then go on from there after POE, which is why I am looking for a 3 hour or more layover just to be sure, I can't tell how long it will take to go through passport control with this visa!

Yaaay!!! Congrats!!!

@KittyKahlohr...we defianetly should!!!

Also...I have a question in regards to the availability of interview appointments.

When you all scheduled the visa interview did you take the first available spot? And is the 16 working day time frame which is stated on the US embassy website really an accurate statistic?

For me the first slot was available in less than a week, last week Wednesday I got the email that I could schedule my appointment and this week Tuesday I had the interview! I don't know what the 16 days frame applies to but I feel it is not for K1 cause it appears that apart from the time of their technical issues everyone could get an appointment really quickly if they wanted to! Litisa had her interview the same day as me and she also scheduled the appointment less than a week beforehand :)

Congrats to everyone!

Quick question before you all leave for greener pastures of marriage and AOS......my fiance has a police certificate from Italy. A lot of the advice on the boards say translations don't need to be official. However, Packet 3 instructions say "official translation". Did anyone need translations done and which did you use? He is leaving Italy next week, so we may be in a scramble to find an official translator.

Hi fellow Frankfurt applicants!

Got my pack 4 email this morning - very prompt from the consulate.

I went to book an appointment - there were absolutely no slots in August. Maybe because of the vacation time?

Fine by me, since I want to interview in late September anyway - plenty of openings for September.

PS: I did not include any payment receipt copies in my pack 3 - wasn't needed, apparently.

Congrtats to succesfully receiving packet 4! And thank you for the clarification regarding the payment receipt, I'm sure that will be helpful for many future applicants :thumbs:

Meanwhile, I'm waiting for the mailman. My passport has been sent yesterday, I'm not sure if it will get here today even but I do not want to leave the house, just in case :D
