Congrtats to succesfully receiving packet 4! And thank you for the clarification regarding the payment receipt, I'm sure that will be helpful for many future applicants

Meanwhile, I'm waiting for the mailman. My passport has been sent yesterday, I'm not sure if it will get here today even but I do not want to leave the house, just in case :D

WHAAAATT???? Nooo spots in August?

Someone who booked the interview yesterday said that there were still some available in the 3rd week of August and a bunch in the last week...I guess they are going fast?!?!?

Oh man!!! That is dissapointing as I really wanted a spot in August :(

Maybe some are still gonna open up?

DOes anyone know if it is possible to schedule an appointment and then change to an earlier one once one comes available? I know its possible in Canada but not sure if Frankfurt does it :(

Yes, you can rebook on US traveldocs - you'd just have to keep an eye out (maybe check every day?) for cancelations opening up.

When I booked this morning there was 1 spot left, for Aug 26th 7.45AM. That has also gone now.

But plenty of appointments starting from Sept 1.

They only seem to have 4-5 spots a day anyway: 7.45, 8.00, 8.15, 8.30 and 8.45.

Maybe they'll release more spots if the demand is high?

As I am travelling at the beginning of September and can't surrender my passport I don't mind interviewing later, but I keep my fingers crossed that you get the earliest slot!

I know when I had my F-1 and J-1 interviews the schedule changed almost daily...so hopefully it is the same here.

Thanks for letting me know!!!

I pray that I will be lucky to still get an earlier spot once I get my packet 4 :innocent:

Hi guys,

I received my packet 4 this morning, too!

The consulate received my packet 3 on Tuesday morning, so they were very fast. I also only sent the email confirmation I received after making my fee payment. No bank account statement needed.

I just booked the August 26th slot an hour ago - sorry guys! I was really disappointed with the available times, too. I was hoping to be in Boston by september 1st to start a university course, but an interview on august 26th probably won't get me there in time.

It's crazy that so many were available for August just last week, and now they're all gone. I will be checking daily to try and get one of those earlier times. Sigh. At least things are moving...

I did not send any confirmation whatseover - the payment is handled online, hence no hardcopy receipts needed.

How long did it take most of you to receive your passport after your interview? I'm considering booking a flight for September 11 (bad day to fly, I know) and my interview is on August 26. That's 2 weeks and 2 days. Not sure if this is too risky or not!

For me it took exactly 3 days! I don't know in how far this is representative though as I had the feeling it was VERY fast. But if there will be no technical issues at that time I'm fairly sure that you should receive it will in time :)

Wow that is SO fast! I have a feeling this is also unusually fast, because it seems like others have been stuck for two weeks or more! It's so hard not knowing...

Actually I think 3-4 days is the norm. I applied for a J-1 and F-1 visa before and each time I received it within 3 working days. Maybe the 2 week waiting period was due to technical errors and then the backlog which was created at the beginning of June.

I did not dare booking a flight before I had the visa in hand as I read some stories of misspelled names, torn sealed envelopes and and and. After all this trouble I really wanted to make sure. I had been monitoring flights since my interview though and so it was just a matter of minutes to book it after the mailman rang :D

Hi guys!

Had my interview on Wednesday and everything went super smoothly.

I just received notice that my passport has left the embassy - so fast!

However, I have entered the tracking number into the Deutsche Post tracking but it does not recognise it...

https://www.deutschepost.de/sendung/simpleQueryResult.html

Can you guys tell me if this is the website you used to track your passport?

If not, could you provide me the link to the correct site?

Thank you!!
