BUt I am so bored with my Razr. I HATE it in fact...

You do have options for other "unlocked" phones. You will pay a higher price, as they are not subsidized by the carrier. On the upside, you have no need to extend your contract. Something to consider.

I love Nokia. I have had a Nokia for 10+ years.

I would go to the maufacturers website of your choice and select a model that you like.

Then you can type the model number + buy into google.

You will get options of sites that show who has the best prices, such as CNET shopper, bizrate, nextag etc... From there you can select an online store for purchase.

We did this for a particular Nokia that my wife wanted and found a very competetive price.

Is that something I would buy from ebay?? or from where exactly?

Make sure you buy an 'unlocked' phone.

Yes, the SIM swap will only work with "unlocked" phones. Be sure to get an "unlocked" phone, which means that it will work with any carrier that uses a SIM card. Often times, the specs will advise which carriers the instrument wll work with.

depends on the model. you can search the internet for frequencies for your phone and your carrier in the US. I use my 2 Nokias in the US and Thailand. I just swap sim cards. They are unlocked.

If you post you phone model and carrier (US) I can figure it out for you.

"Tri-Band = A GSM phone that supports three of the four major GSM frequency bands, and will therefore work in most parts of the world.

There are two major types of tri-band GSM phones: European and Americas.

European tri-band phones support the 900, 1800, and 1900 frequency bands. They provide complete coverage in Europe, Africa, and Asia, and work on at least one network in most countries in the Americas.

Americas tri-band phones support the 800/850, 1800, and 1900 frequency bands. They provide complete coverage in the Americas, and will work on at least one network in most countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia."

If you don't want to pay international roaming charges, you can use a UK based SIM card in your Tri-Band phone.

Yes. Just make sure it is a tri-band or quad-band phone.. The specs of the phone should indicate that the phone works on both 900mhz and 1800Mhz for Europe..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.
