Error on Work Authorization Card...Any Suggestions?

I just got my wife's work authorization card after 3 months waiting, but they printed her birthdate wrong on the card. I called USCIS this morning, and according to what they told me, I have to send in another application I-765 and the original copy to prove they did it wrong. Otherwise, they will charge the application fee again. It will take another 15 - 30 days. I just got frustrated, I mean what a PITA that is, and how stupid those IDIOTIC USCIS workers are!

Anyway, want to ask if anyone else here have the same experiences on error correcting process on their work card or green card or other documentations. Please let me know what is the best way to handle this.

Also, what if we just use the card instead of sending it back. How big of a deal it is if the birthdate on the card is wrong. Just try to avoid another hassle with USCIS.

The fact that there is a clerical error on the card does invalidate it. Use it and get it corrected.

Yes it is stupid that they messed it up. But it is a fix that they make for free.
