Hi All,

Anyone have any experience with filing a CRBA at the Jakarta embassy? My question is, does the USC father have to be present for the interview or can the paperwork be signed and validated in the states then sent to Jakarta?

My fiancé who is the mother is due early September. I want to be there for the birth but want to file the CRBA ASAP after he is born. I know it will take a few weeks until they are able to travel and I can't stay in Indonesia that long. I was hoping to have the CRBA and US passport processed while we wait for my Fiances K1 interview. I'm guessing the interview will take place some time in November/December. I would like to go back to Indo for the interview and then all 3 of us come to the US after the visa is (hopefully) approved and issued.

I tried to email the embassy but the contact info on their site only lists a phone number and mailing address, no email.

TIA for any first hand experience.

The e-mail address is jakIV@state.gov. I don't know how responsive they'll be since your case hasn't arrived at the embassy yet, but they responded within a day or two to our e-mails.

Sorry, I can't answer your question whatsoever. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the email address. I could not find it anywhere on their website.
