The bad weather actually helped me!

Just thought I'd mention this in passing.

The recent really heavy snow across the midwest seems to have helped me out. I had my biometrics interview a few days after the big snow storm. So travel was still pretty restricted and a lot of companies were closed.

So I headed off really early to make sure I got there in plenty of time for my appointment. I drove around down town, not really remembering where the USCIS was, and with mounds of snow covering parking meters, I decided just to park where I could and then walk. Turns out I parked about 20 yards from the front door.

I go in and it's strangely quiet in the building. The security guards ask if I have an appointment and let me in. Instead of a crowded waiting room, there were maybe six people there. They were only seeing people that day who actually had interviews scheduled. I filled in the form and sat down ready for the usual hour or so wait. This was about 30 minutes before my interview time.

Within five minutes they called my name and I was actually in and out BEFORE my scheduled appointment time.

I'm sorry if I'm a little dense but, did you actually have an interview for your I-751 or did they just take your biometrics?

Not dense at all. They call it a biometrics interview, but it's really just filling out a form (height, weight etc), having a photo taken and finger prints.
