Hi, i've started filling in my G325a forms as part of the I-129F petition and I have a couple of queries i'm hoping someone may be able to help with.

I spent a year out travelling a few years ago, so technically I was unemployed. I was wondering if it would be best to simply put unemployed or to put something like 'Career break for travelling' in the employment section. Has anyone had any problems getting a visa approved because they were unemployed for any time? I know they don't want anyone to be a drain on society!

Also in the parents section my father is deceased, so i'm not sure whether to put deceased or none in the 'current residence' box. Any advice?

I'm the alien btw, from the UK.

Sent I-129F to NSC Mar 6th 2007

Embassy interview 11th Sep 2007

Arrived in US 15th Sep 2007

Married Oct 12th 2007

Sent AOS forms Nov 13th 2007

Biometrics Dec 14th 2007

EAD/AP received Jan 22nd 2008

Green Card interview Mar 23rd 2008

If you were not working then write UNEMPLOYED.

As for your parents you can write DECEASED - that is what most people do.

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil
