Okay ladies and gents, i now officially have my NOA2 in hand and i believe i've gathered all the necessary documents that my fiancee will need when she goes to the interview. But if ya'll could kindly check to see if i'm missing anything, i'd be most grateful.

-Copy of entire petition sent to CSC

-Copies of NOA1 & NOA2

-Recent letter of intent to marry

-I-134 Affidavit of Support

-3 pay stubs

-Letter from employer

-Telephone records as proof of ongoing relationship.

*Two things to note. I provided a ton of proof of relationship along with the I-129F, so i don't have much proof remaining. She has been working in Austria and unable to email me and we haven't seen each other since the petition was filed so there's no other type of documents i have as proof.

The 2nd thing to note is more of a question. I have been employed at the same company for 9 years and make ~$50k. Do i still need to fill out the part of the I-134 that states real estate, mortgages, etc.?

Thanks in advance, everyone has been such a great help on here.

Your fiance can take the same proof of ongoing relationship that you sent with your I-129F to the interview with her.

I also haven't seen my fiance since before we mailed out our I-129F application so no more pictures. Therefore, I printed out 10 e-mails and have created a scrapbook of pictures (we only sent 6 originally).

I also have letters, Christmas cards, presents to show ongoing relationship...

I'm going to the interview though and that is great "proof".

As far as the I-134 I read that you don't need to show assets if you earn more than what the poverty guidelines state.

I earn more than enough but I still included my life insurance and savings account balance. I did contact the consulate in Rio and asked about my W2s. I told them my salary and asked if I needed a letter from the bank. They responded that I did not.

You can ask the consulate that you're going through.

Good luck.

Ah yes, i actually do have that letter from the bank, as well as a copy of my 2006 tax returns. It never hurts to have too much. I just want to get this stuff sent off this week instead of waiting for a real estate assessor and mortgage summary. We should be fine. I was so worried about the petition and we aced it.

Before i sent the petition i had a immigration lawyer legal assistant advise me. She told me that having the petitioner go with the applicant to the embassy is actually detrimental to the K1 process. She said that the applicant needs to show the embassy that she has the confidence to handle herself and not be coached. But of course that same legal assistant also told me the petition alone takes 6-8 months and i got mine back in under 3. She also told me i'd need an FBI background check on myself.

Yea, she's wrong. Some consulates actually stress how important it is that the USC attend - almost making it mandatory.

The consulate in Rio welcomes the USC and often interviews him or her just as much (if not more) than the Brazilian.

I'm glad to go.

I've read that we should send W2s for the past 3 years. Are you going to do that?

I'm taking everything with me (besides the letter from the bank - though I have the paperwork from when I opened my account) - better to be safe than sorry.

Good luck

Hazah,

Congratulations on your NOA2!

I think you have all your documents ready to go. You wouldn't need to list the RE assets as long as you meet the poverty lines.

Some consulates allow for the fiancé to attend the interview but others don't. You may want to check your Embassy to see if it's OK.

Good luck on your journey and hope you get an interview date soon!

edi :)

I guess i could use 3 tax returns instead of 1. I did the past 3 years using Turbo Tax so they look nice. I also found a USPS reciept for the Christmas presents i sent, i will try to send that too.

No where on the I-134 does it ask for 3 W2s, right? I don't remember.

I think that everyone says to have 3 years worth of taxes because another form, similar to I-134, asks for 3.

I'm going to send them all - I think it's better to be safe. My brother-in-law is an accountant so it was easy to get my copies from him.

I hope you can send it out - and that it all goes well.
