So I called today for a "random check" to see if NVC received my case and the very sweet lady warned that there's a backlog at NVC. She also informed me that NVC would receive my case within 35-40 days from approval date and another 45 days for CC but did suggest to call next week. To your point, she also said that USCIS can take up to 90 days to send cases. I called USCIS and she confirmed the same thing but she wouldn't tell me if our case was sent or not. I didn't push either. I think I can handle the 2-3 months wait time. But I definitely feel with you being here and your spouse being in India. Mine is north of the border.

i am still praying they miraculously get caught up and we don't have to even wait 30 days for NVC to receive our case. Yes, i'll post as soon as i get an update about my case. I wish i could just go to NSC get my approved petition and send it to NVC myself. it would get there so much faster. they can put it in a sealed envelope with a seal mark on it if they want to make sure i don't open it......just want NVC to get it.

Can you not leave that out? If your getting an error I would leave it out. And continue forward.

In India can u request for police clearance certificate based on the approval notice or do u need to show them some other documents in order to receive the PCC?

I can ask my husband tonight. He's sleeping right now. He received his PCC for India in September. he somehow managed to get it the same day. They did ask him several questions and he had to meet with 2-3 different people during the process before they would give it to him, but I don't remember him mentioning taking anything other than a copy of our marriage certificate as well as the original. I'll let you know tonight.

I can ask my husband tonight. He's sleeping right now. He received his PCC for India in September. he somehow managed to get it the same day. They did ask him several questions and he had to meet with 2-3 different people during the process before they would give it to him, but I don't remember him mentioning taking anything other than a copy of our marriage certificate as well as the original. Getting police clearnce is easy. My hubby got on the same day before our approval. For passport clearnce your spouse can have a copy or image in the phone. I think my husband had his original birth certificate on him. But not quite sure whether they asked or not. I can also ask him.

My husband said he only took his passport and our marriage certificate. they asked him a bunch of questions including why he is wanting it, for which which country, and asked who is petitioning, they wrote for which country on the PCC as well.

Yes! In fact, I and tons of others on this forum would encourage you to start gathering the documents that you would need to submit at the NVC stage. A PCC is valid for 1 year unless you don't live in that country anymore, in which case the PCC for that country doesn't expire.

Regarding PCC for India...my husband is from Kerala and he said he worked with a travel agent. they submitted the request to the Regional Passport Agency. The Agency then sent an appointment letter directly to my husband. He showed up to the appointment with his passport and our marriage certificate. He had to meet with 3-4 different people who all asked him different some same questions. They took and made copies of the passport and scanned our marriage certificate into their system. He was lucky and was able to get everything done and PCC in hand the same day.

I got notification today that my approved petition has been sent to the NVC! I wonder how long before NVC receives it? Maybe i'll call on Thursday to see if they did.

Anyone know if case and IIN's are being assigned at 2-3 weeks or if it's taking longer?
