Honestly, I thought that calling them would force them to actually look at my case and I would hear something sooner, but I was completely wrong. I wish there was a way to call NSC directly and talk to someone there so I know exactly what's going on with my petition but that's a lost cause too. i'm happy for those that are getting approvals in August already but it really makes me wonder why mine hasn't been touched yet!

I'm in the same boat LinJoe...

Sorry I've been away for a while. I don't really have anything new to update though.

PD July 6th, 2015 NSC

xfered to Potomac Oct 15th, 2015

received RFE Dec 12th (mailed out on Dec 4th to the wrong address. apparently Potomac doesn't have access to updated information either)

Mailed in requested document via priority 2 day mail. According to the USPS it was delivered freaking DEC 28th (expected delivery date was Dec 18th).

Potomac can not give confirmation of receipt. The envelope hasn't been touched yet.

I spoke to a tier 2 yesterday about the fact that my RFE hasn't bee processed yet and about the fact that the Potomac center still apparently has my old address even though my USCIS account shows that my request to change address was processed and completed on September 27th AND that I had called in on Dec 7th to verify the correct address (which also states it has been updated and request closed yet Potomac still sent to my old address.)

As I have read in previous posts, the tier 2 told me that I need to wait 60 days from the day they receive my RFE before they can do anything. What makes that even more fun is that it is 60 days from THEIR receipt, not when the USPS says they delivered it...

*Sigh*

I'm just tired, and lonely, and anxious. I see my husband every day via Skype but it's just not the same. At least I have our kids here with me. He is there all alone with no family close to help him through this process.

I understand the backlog. I understand the need for security and for the process but really... Has the system been abused so much that families have to be completely torn apart for such extended amounts of time?

Maybe when I win the powerball tomorrow I can just buy an island somewhere where we can be together

In other news...

Hi Morgan,

For your case, you reviewed DS261 after paying AOS fees? I thought review may be done just to get the AOS fee/IV fee payment enabled.

thx

Reviewing the DS261 will unlock the IV fee. The AOS fee will be available right from the start (but might take a couple days for it to invoice).

CONGRATS to all of you who have been approved and have moved on to the NVC process!!!! WOOHOO!!! Not long now for you! :joy:

I feel and understand your pain!!

Our PD is July 9th, 2015 and were also transferred to Potomac on 10/15. When we call for an update, the automated message says it's been transferred to Nebraska (where it was initially received) yet the notice we received by mail says our case is now at the Potomac Center. Every time we call, we get a different answer as to where our case is (no matter what tier officer we speak with). Did you by any chance call USCIS customer care and get the same automated message?

There were days I cried myself to sleep. My husband and I stopped Skyping because by the end of the call we were both so sad because we could see each other but not actually be together or hug each other. we only Skype rarely now. It's all phone calls and text messages. I just got my approval this morning so i'm beyond ecstatic! my mood is a complete 180 from yesterday. Since the holidays are over, perhaps whomever had our petitions are finally starting to work on them again. I hope you get your approval soon!
