I was looking at the Timeline table and i'm starting to wonder if perhaps the petitions with PD of July 15 - July 28 are sitting in boxes in someone's office that has been or is on vacation! PD before that range and after are getting approvals. staying positive is getting harder these days.

Have you heard anything on your case??

Just to give another update on the NVC process:

We received our NOA-2 with a Notice Date of December 8, 2015.

I've been calling NVC each week to check on whether we've been assigned a Case Number and IIN.

I had previously been told that it can take up to 45 days for those to be assigned by NVC.

Today I called, and the NVC rep told me that their system showed that NVC received our application packet from TSC today. That means NVC has confirmed that the physical package has arrived there and the barcode has been scanned in. He said this is referred to as the "Wand Date". He said that due to the volume of mail that they've been receiving, it can take up to 42 days from this point to be assigned a NVC case number and IIN. He did say that it could be sooner, but 42 was the current average.

So, for everyone trying to gauge their timelines, allow a few weeks from the Notice Date on your NOA-2 for NVC to even receive your physical application, then figure on up to 42 days for them to assign you a Case Number and IIN. Once you have those, you can move on to the next steps (DS261 Choice of Agent, payment of IV fees, etc).

Hope this helps, and hope everyone gets Case Numbers earlier than the average!!

just got case number and invoice ID number over the phone; petition approved on nov 18, 2015 with PD JULY 7. NVC received on Dec 14 after 26 days from the new service center (PSC) I got case number and invoice ID number after two weeks. When i call they say that it takes 42 days but it took only 15. days. actually it depends on the volume of the mail. Good luck everyone

Have you heard anything on your case??

No.

I called again this afternoon and the first person that answered the phone said the same normal thing...case still pending and they are working on June 2nd petitions at NSC. This time, I mentioned to him that I know petitions with PD for end of July and even early august are being approved so I wanted to check and make sure my petition wasn't lost or something. he said he would transfer me to a tier 2 person and I can ask them about that. he transferred me but it went to a voicemail saying I will be put in line for someone to call me back. someone called me back 30 minutes later and he seemed sympathetic. He said not hearing anything until now could be good news, meaning they may not need anything additional from me. He then told me not to worry. I appreciated the sympathy and wished him a happy new year. Nothing else came from that conversation other than wait. I'm guessing I won't hear anything until mid January at this rate. :crying:

I know it's hard but no news is really good news! I am sure you will get approved this week! you are past your 5 months. It took us over 5 months (161 days) before approval. This entire process is so slow. We have been at NVC for 2 weeks and still have no case or IIN number. We all wait for months and still wait and wait once approved. I pray you hear something soon. I will be keeping an eye out for you to post approved :joy:
