Our application was mailed July 20. Our lawyer filled out the email notification form, but the notifications are sent to him. I haven't heard from him about the NOA1. How long does it usually take? Also, how long does it take to get the snail mail version of the NOA1? I just really need to see some progress, and know where our case was sent. :-/

Thanks!

Yes we sent application to Chicago Lockbox from Costa Rica and specified as many times as possible that I am (USC) am currently living abroad with my husband. :)

Does anyone know how long they usually take at the California Center? I know on their website it says 5 months but I've heard it's faster....anyone know?

Hi JenRen, I would take a look at others' timelines to see some of that info. You can click on the "show similar timelines" button that shows up in yours, and look in people's signatures (maybe the June and July filers threads would give you a good sample).

Our I-130 was approved on July 30 at CSC! 22 days from NOA1 :joy:

Make sure to check the egov.uscis.gov website daily! Of course we provided an email address upon submission, but have so far found out all updates from the official website.

Random sidenote: So happy we got placed at CSC not only because it is fast, but it's my hometown and I actually went to preschool inside the same building (one of the strangest looking ones in Orange County-looks like a sand pyramid)! Literally lived 3 minutes from here my whole life and drove past it multiple times a day for the first 18yrs of my life...if only that counted for something! Funny, but I would've been pretty sad had I been routed somewhere I had not seen everyday of my life! :goofy:

Good luck going forth to everyone!

We have bad luck! Our journey is not starting well...

So I originally send our package to the Chicago Lockbox. We got confused with the addresses and we should have send it to the express mail address. The mailing company realized there was a mistake with the address and they send our package (without contacting us) to the USCIS Field Offices: 101 west Congress Parkway: 4-5 blocks from where it should be...). I am so mad... They are trying to fix this. I am worried our package got lost. Hopefully it was transferred internely and some papers didn't get lost. I am going to call the NCS as soon as it opens. Hopefully they will answer me and not tell me to wait the 30 days or that they send it back... At least I have an exact copy at home.
