I just received an update from USPS and it said that my application will be delivered on Monday, which is a 13th. At least it is not a Friday and I hope that number 13 on a Monday will be a blessing (

I have called NVC twice already. Last week and this week. I was told to wait 35 days. I was approved on December 3. This wait is just ridiculous!

Based on previous VJ's that have updated their timelines, once your petition is approved it normally takes 2-3 weeks for NVC to receive it, then another at least 2 weeks for them to assign a Case number and Invoice Identification number.

If your petition was approved on December 3rd, I would call them next week to confirm they received your case from the Processing Center. The waiting isn't over once the petition is approved...it's just in shorter increments. at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel for you. Hang in there!

Trust the process of time. Waiting is hard but next year this time all of us will be with our respective spouses. Patience is a virtue, be strong and hold on to faith! It will be done!

Pretty excited Just checked online today we were approved-

We filed on 07/02/15 got approved 12/14/15 !!!

This is starting to be the best Christmas gift already :joy:

Just to give everyone an update, since it seems like more approvals are starting to come in for us July filers:

After I checked my online case status and saw that our application was approved on December 8, I called the NVC number and got through to a live person on my second attempt.

I told her that my wife's case was just approved, and she asked for our "_________" date (I think it was "notification" date). I said I wasn't sure what she was looking for, and she explained that we should receive a letter in the mail which identifies a particular date for our case for this next step.

I asked about receiving our case number and IIN, and she said that currently the average is 45 days before NVC actually receives the application from the various service centers and then assigns a case number.

I asked about once that number is assigned, what our next steps would be. She said that the next step was choice of agent, and that either myself (as petitioner) or my wife (as beneficiary) could contact them regarding choice of agent. She said that it was faster to process that step by doing it over the phone (around 7 days), since if you go the written route it can take 30 days or more to process due to their filing system.

Hope this info helps everybody wondering about the next steps. Good luck to all those July filers still waiting to hear--hope you get the good news sooner rather than later!

Tom, I am not understanding.....are you saying we should wait 45 days to call NVC?....is choice of agent made 7 days after NOA2?

I have realized that USCIS is in no hurry to do anything. It can take up to 2-3 from what I am seeing on the NVC-Dec forums for NVC to receive cases. Good luck and I hope they receive your case soon.
