My pd was July 14th and transfer date was Oct 15th, Dec 2 case was received at my local office. .

How about yours?

Did you get a notice notifying you of the Dec. 2nd transfer? Check out the "Potomac" forum. It seems that some bloggers called and were notified that local offices do not handle such forms and that the Potomac svc center is AKA "local office". I'm only quoting what I read of course. Did you call to inquire on your petition? Nonetheless, I really hope we all get what we really wish for by Christmas :)

Hi. I never received Dec 2nd notice. I received potomac service center transfer notice around Oct 22nd. Afterwards nothing but online update for Dec 2nd. I called them but as usual didn't get much information. Tier 2 officer said that my case was received at my local office here in New York and it may take 73 more days to get approved. But I don't think it will take 2 more months. Hopefully we will be receiving good news before Christmas. Keep me updated if you hear anything.

I am a USC filed a petition for my husband that lives in mexico.

A little nervous seems like a delay is going on in Nebraska

The only notification received so far is a automated email stating also a mail receipt sent stating -----

On July 2, 2015, we received your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number ********** sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by August 1, 2015, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283.

So I contacted customer service and all they pretty much say is the same thing i received in email. Not very helpful

A slow start to this week. I haven't seen anyone posting approvals. I hope the week improves. This Wednesday will be exactly 5 months. I feel like those that call to inquire about their petition end up getting their approvals that same day or the next day. I wonder if calling triggers whomever at the processing center to take a look and actually do something with it.

Just to give everyone an update, since it seems like more approvals are starting to come in for us July filers:

After I checked my online case status and saw that our application was approved on December 8, I called the NVC number and got through to a live person on my second attempt.

I told her that my wife's case was just approved, and she asked for our "_________" date (I think it was "notification" date). I said I wasn't sure what she was looking for, and she explained that we should receive a letter in the mail which identifies a particular date for our case for this next step.

I asked about receiving our case number and IIN, and she said that currently the average is 45 days before NVC actually receives the application from the various service centers and then assigns a case number.

I asked about once that number is assigned, what our next steps would be. She said that the next step was choice of agent, and that either myself (as petitioner) or my wife (as beneficiary) could contact them regarding choice of agent. She said that it was faster to process that step by doing it over the phone (around 7 days), since if you go the written route it can take 30 days or more to process due to their filing system.

Hope this info helps everybody wondering about the next steps. Good luck to all those July filers still waiting to hear--hope you get the good news sooner rather than later!
