Ugh, Husband didn't get his employment offer letter from his boss for in the US lined up yet, and now boss is on vacation, and then we go on vacation next week before boss returns.

This is going to hold me up for THREE STUPID WEEKS.

Why did you think I got you to order your IRS transcripts and go over that I-864 form etc, dude?

Can someone provide some clarification for CR1 Visa processing, please and thanks....whenever the NOA2 has been approved, is that information only sent via postal service? Or is the status updated on the USCIS case status and email/text approval sent...

Also, although I am mentally prepared for the 5 mos indicated as the processing time, does it take that long and do you have surpass the 5 mos processing time to obtain status by calling.

Thanks

Hi, have you made an account on USCIS website? If you do, you can choose to put a mobile/email alert on so that you will receive a system generated text/email message whenver you case status changes. My husband received a system generated email when our I-130 got approved (and when we got a RFE...).

I suppose the waiting period hugely depends on which service center your case was sent to. You can always check the status of other people's cases processed in the same service center as yours by checking the Visa Journey timelines. That is how I found out when my I-130 would likely be approved. Good luck!

In our case, we first found out that we were approved by periodically checking the USCIS case status page. It stated there that we were approved August 31. We received the hardcopy of NOA2 on September 8 via postal service. We received the notification email on September 14.

It might also help signing up for an account at the USCIS case status page. You can choose to be notified by text and/or email.

When we submitted our I-130 and found out that it ended up at Nebraska Service Center, we expected to wait for 5 months or more, but we were approved after 32 days.

Thanks Kim for responding. I have been periodically checking USCIS but there hasn't been any change since the NOA1. The system is still showing a date of 7/31 of last update. I was a tad bit confused because I've read here that some received it through mail only and the case status never sent email or text. Although I have a timeline inputted here, I'm outside of the window for estimated receipt of the NOA2 but CSC states it takes 5 mos for processing and I know if I attempt to call I will only be told that it's 5mos. All I can do is wait.

It is any consolation Denise I also signed up for the text notification and never got notified so be patient and you should hear something soon because mine was about 3 weeks behind the timeline that was stated here on visa journey good luck!

Unfortunately, there's not an assurance them sending email or text to notify you about the NOA2. Just keep on checking the USCIS case status page periodically.

We are now at the NVC phase. It's been a month since our NOA2. It's stated at the NOA2 hardcopy that we can follow up after 30 days. My husband called to ask about our NVC case number and invoice ID number (the 2 numbers we need to get started with NVC process) and was told to wait for another 2 weeks.

It really needs waiting and patience. You are not alone.

Well...just received a text from USCIS that my case status had been updated and to login for more information. The good news is that if you establish an account and set the setting for email and text notifications, you are informed of status changes. Not so good news is that I will be receiving a RFE (request for evidence) via snail mail...which puts another 30 day or so delay on processing...depending on my turn around, their receipt and processing. Not a way to start the morning (sad face) but at least someone had looked at the case...took a little over 2 mos.

@krissyb93...I will absolutely let you know once I get the hardcopy. The email nor the text provides you any instruction other than additional information is being requested and the reason why a you are receiving a RFE. Just in case anyone is wondering, it was approximately 69 days from the date of NOA1 that I rec'd any correspondence (not what I wanted but it's something!!)

Oh...I failed to mention that the email stayed if you had questions about the RFE and required documents you could call the NCSC...which I gave a shot (for giggles). The agent, pleasant enough, only read to me what the notification stated (which is the same thing the email stated). When asked if he could provide me with what documentation was required, I was told that "he could not provide the information as it was sent by the participating processing center and they had no records of that.."

Yeah, those people don't help with anything, they literally just read from the uscis website haha. And thank you for that! I'm afraid I'll get an rfe for more evidence of a bonifide marriage. I sent in wedding photos, photos with me and his family, 3 affidavits from witnesses at the court marriage ceremony and one of our wedding invitations. We don't really have any other evidence, like an apartment leased together or anything...as we don't live in the same country. I don't know what I would send in if they requested more evidence of our marriage ): Anyways sorry for the wall of text haha. And thank you (:
