Real concern on mom's interiew :

Interview scheduled on Nov.16 2015. send out a package witb interview letter on 10/25/15 expedited. YES paid express. through UPS. package still hasnt arrived at addis ababa. I am really freaking out. mom has to do still medical before the interview. HELP please .

- is there set date mom has to do her medical before the interview? I have heard 2 weeks prior?

- worst comes reality and I have to reschedule the interview... contact directly to the US embassy.

help please. I wasnt able to sleep last night,

You can email the interview letter to your mom and she can print it out to take it to medical appointment. Also the medical does not have to be done 4 weeks prior. You still have time. If you dont wanna wait for the ups to arrive, just go ahead and email the interview letter to your mom and have them print it. You can also use your tracking # and check on ups website to see where the package is.

Thanks yaya. just got the idea yesterday. had all the paperwork emailed already. she has it at hand. . hopefully the next few days she have the medical check up done.

she has informed me .... that she was told .. she has to go the US embassy FIRST and then they will direct her to go medical. is that correct? I mean my understanding was.... if she has the interview letter, so she can directly go one of the Dr's Recommended on medical check up in Addis.

There is no need to go to the embassy first. All she need to do is take a copy of the interview letter and go to one of the hospitals in the list. They will then conduct the medical and will tell her what she needs to do. If you don't have the list of the medical centers, i can send you the link.

Your mom will need approximately $100 for the medical and also ID size pictures. Good luck to you too.

Thanks Yaya. I have spoken few people whose relatives had interviews at Addis embassy. they have told me.... thing are real smooth. One friend said her husband was asked just 3 Questions and got his visa following week. hoping the best for me and you my friend. Thanks for the advise. I will pray things go well for you.

Hello and Congrats again too. as stated in the NVC Process the following:

POE

After you get approved at the interview, there is one more fee to pay. It's for the actual green card and the current cost is $165. You'll receive a letter about this at the interview, which you can read in advance here [31] <right Click and Open in New Link>. This fee can either be paid before or after POE, but it's recommended to do it before, so as not to cause any delays.

It may also be possible to get a tracking number for the green card. Follow VJ member Darnell's advice:

"Call USCIS, get a human, ask for the TRACKING NUMBER on the green card. Yes, such a thing exists, and they will give it to you when asked. Then call USPS and inquire for status. In the end, if USPS sent it back to USCIS, you'll need to call USCIS again, talk with an ISO about 'returned mail pieces', go over your address again on the telephone, and ask to have all returned mail pieces sent back to you."

my mom has interview on Nov. 16th. I could really use, any suggestions, ideas, advice and last minute remiders in the next 11 days. Anyone who has done IR5 Interview.? what to expect from the interview besides basic questions on the petitioner as well as the beneficiary?

no sorry I didn't. people said they stopped by there and all they told them was to wait, and even my husband went there and they said don't come back til you have your interview so I don't know I just didn't feel like crying in front of anyone hahahah. im bad at crying when I get mad so yea I saved them the tears. and yes I enjoyed my time of course! we lived under the same roof, same time zone, ate same food ect. so it was priceless. ill be going back in a couple months if nothing clears up and maybe ill be mad enough to actually go there and yell. but another thing that kept me from going is because april people got interviews so im thinking this month may and next month june CCs. but that's only my guess. but we shall see what happens.

That's what I'm thinking as well . . . Hope we'll get our interview schedule soon . . . crossing my fingers . . .
