I emailed the US embassy in Addis about the interview, no reply yet. I called NVC about the status, they said that they will let me know when they hear from the US embassy in Addis and there is no time frame for that. RIDICULOUS!!!

yea its crazy hubby went today to the embassy to ask about our case they gave him an email address. when I call him in a hour I will see if its a different address from the ones listed on the site. they scheduled mexico and Jamaica yesterday lets see if we have movement this week.

USCIS : 7 months
Marriage : March 21, 2014
I-130 Sent : April 18, 2014
I-130 NOA1 : April 22, 2014
I-130 Approved: November 14, 2014 ( after two service request) 

NVC: 6 months
Received : December 1, 2014
Received DS-261 / AOS Bill : January 1, 2015
Pay AOS Bill : January 9, 2015
Submit DS-261 : January 7, 2015
Receive IV Bill : January 15, 2015 called after AOS showed paid, they released it overnight)
Pay IV Bill : January 23, 2015
Send IV and AOS: January 29, 2015
Scan date: February 3, 2015
Checklist: March 19, 2015 (only need to send south Africa police report)
Case Complete: June 3, 2015 

EMBASSY: 10 months
Interview appointment letter : December 4, 2015
Interview Date : January 21, 2016 medical wasn't complete
Second interview date: April 4th 2016
Interview Result :APPROVED!!!
Visa Received : 4/13/2016 ( they sent us a email stating our visa was ready for pick up)

USA LIFE
US Entry :4/29/2016 
Social Security : 5/10/2016 (filed from the actual office)
State ID: 5/14/2016
Started working!!: 5/25/2016
Finally paid green card fee: 6/24/2016 ( note said we will receive it within 60 days)
Green card in hand: 7/5/2016 10 year green card we done!! 

1st king born: 6/30/2016

April 2017 update: Marriage still going strong, baby boy getting bigger. Life is good

Ethiopian counsel is a very disorganized or the workers are somewhat clueless , for some reason my wife finish her interview in July but after told to pick her visa in a couple of days, they keep requesting fos we submitted earlier ,,, I am about to just go there again to Ethiopia what a x

Sorry for being late in replying but is that Fos or a typo that should read AOS we submitted? just want to make sure I'm following you here. also you said you are returen to Ethiopia again. so I guess this is not your first time heading to AA to inquire about you wifes case in person. My wife has inquire several time at the AA Emby and just too much confussion. and as you may not know this AA Ethiopia is on the US Terrorism Watch Dog list and that's one of the reason why things are moving really slow coming out of Ethiopia. so make sure you have all your I dotted and Tee cross. Did anyone hear from the U.S. embassy in Ethiopia or the NVC about their interview schedule?

No have not heard anything from Ethiopia nor NVC on inteview Schedule for Oct 2015.

what the hold up. that the question. first is NVC is the database faiure early in June 2015 and

Hi! Folks

My case was completed on April 17, 2015. Still today no interview date assigned...166 days counted. I was at US -Addis embassy last week to clarify hold ups, after repeatedly un-answered emails & FB messages with the consulate. No clear answer! I was told as they are conducting interviews everyday. They also told me they have no access to my case since its at NVC level. Nowhere to go except waiting game. Any advice the way to go?

My case was completed 5 days after yours on April 23rd but I have not heard anything yet about the interview. Other countries started November scheduling today and hopefully Ethiopia will be one of them.

01/26/2015 Case # assigned and completed DS-261.

01/30/2015 Received AOS invoice and paid.

02/02/2015 Mailed AOS + IV packets

02/10/2015 Scan date for AOS + IV packets

03/23/2015 Received a checklist for AOS

03/27/2015 Mailed checklist response

03/30/2015 Checklist scan date

What I have not tried is asking for a supervisor when calling NVC...like everyone here all I get is still waiting on interview slot. Has anyone tried asking for a supervisor to look into this further? almost 6 months waiting for interview date after cc is unheard of, right?! I asked the NVC rep if there is systematically something wrong that is leading to this delay -- she said "no issues, this wait is normal"...she continued to say if they get 5 interview slots for the month, they assign/schedule those based on CC dates.

My case is for IR5. USC visa for Mom.

Congratulations for getting the interview letter. Have you requested for an expedite? Because my case was completed in April but have not received a letter yet.

Interview letter Email just arrived at my inbox at Addis Ababa, on Nov. 16. 2015.

My case is for IR5. USC visa for Mom.
