Sorry to here they issue u a DT (Denied Temp). if you don't mind me asking what evidence did you bring to your interview, and what evidence they was looking for that you did not bring to meet their satisfaction. it crazy to here that 15 different interviews was DT for lack of enough evidence. just how much evidence one must bring to a interview (research time).. :protest:

Sorry guys for my late reply, I'd a busy day. OK, here is the scoop. I received email from the U.S. Consulate in Addis two weeks before our interview date. Here is part of the email...

Requirement

Please find the following important steps in advance of the interview date:

Based on U.S. law, not everyone who applies is qualified or eligible for a visa to come to the United States. Under U.S. law, many factors could make an applicant ineligible to receive a visa. If the applied visa is family-based petition representing a bona fide relationship as required by the Immigration and Nationality Act, one of the requirement to be eligible for the visa is to provide sufficient proof of the relationship which the burden of proof lies on the applicant. Evidence of family relationship, can be but not limited to

- photos of you with the petitioner over a period of years

- money transfers from petitioner

- correspondence (communication via text, viber records, emails, letters etc.)

- phone bills and records of calls

- Etc.

At the time of interview, the consular officer determined that the evidence in support of the claimed relationship was sufficient to establish eligibility for a visa. Therefore, you need to bring any proof of relationship you have as one of the requirement to establish eligibility of a visa. In addition, if you have not already submitted original documents of the following to NVC (National Visa Center) please bring them along with the photocopy for the interview.

- Valid Passport(s)

- Adoption decree (s) if applicable

- Marriage certificate if applicable

- Evidence of Financial support

- Death Certificate(s) if applicable

- Divorce Certificate(s) if applicable

- Police certificate(s) if applicable

- Court Records (if applicable)

- Medical Examination Information

- The Appointment letter

- Birth certificate(s)

Applicants must also present two 5cm x 5cm color photographs taken in the past 30 days. Photos are required of all applicants regardless of age. Print Your Full name on the back of each photograph.

Specifications:

- Photographs must be glossy, untouched, and on a white or off-white background.

- The subject shall be shown in full frontal view, with the applicant facing the camera directly, with full head, from top of hair to bottom of chin, from the hairline side to side, and with the eyes wide open.

- It is preferable that the ears be exposed.

- The dimension of the facial image must be about one inch (33 mm) from the chin to the top of the hair, and should cover 50% of the photograph.

- The photograph should measure 2 inches by 2 inches (50 mm square) with the head centered in the frame.

- The photograph must be free of shadows and must not contain any marks, splotches or discolorations.

- Eyeglasses must be worn if normally used by the applicant.

- Applicants should have their photos taken without head covering of any kind. Photographs with heads covered are only acceptable when the presentation of photos without a head covering would conflict with the applicant's religious practices. A photograph depicting a person wearing a head covering must show enough of the face so as to establish identity.

- A photo depicting a person wearing a traditional facemask or veil that conceals portions of the face is not acceptable.

- Airbrushing or other alterations to make the face appear more attractive will not be accepted.

- Photographs of photographs will not be accepted.

- Printed digital photographs will not be accepted.

- Photographs of applicants in military or other uniforms, or wearing sunglasses will not be accepted.

Please refer to http://ethiopia.usembassy.gov/photo_requirements.html

We gathered all but not limited to the above listed documents. We thought it was "more than enough", but didn't bother compiling them.

Just to mention, we have a record of our communication from Viber, Vonage, Rebel, Messenger, Regular phone....

Anyways, we are going to compile more documents of the same category as listed above.

We wish every one of you a GOOD LUCK in your interviews. We will keep you posted.

My wife reflection from today interview. She waited for a few a hour and her name got called. Her interview took 45 minutes. We have all supporting documents like Facebook chat log, phone record, money gram. Our Facebook chat is 300 pages. HE ASKED HER EVERYTHING ABOUT ME AND MY FAMILY. OVERALL IT WAS A FRANK CONVERSATION AND APPROVED HER VISA AFTER SHE CONVINCED HIM OUR RELATIONSHIP.

We had our interview today at the U.S. Consulate in Addis. There were a lot of people for interview today as they cancelled all the interviews for tomorrow(dec 23rd) and rescheduled them for today(Dec 23rd Offices are closed for a Muslim holiday in Ethiopia). The waiting room was super-packed. There were two windows dedicated for IV interview. We did our interview around 9 AM. All of us (around 15) were "denied temporarily" due to 221 (g). Basically, asking for more evidence. I am sure the incident happened in California a few weeks ago has caused all this. So, we will go from here and provide them "more evidence." I am sure you can learn what 221 (g) means if you google it. Buckle up and Good Luck to Ya'll.

Sorry about the temp denial.

Did you by any chance speak to some of these interviewed to see how long their interview schedule took? I received another email from the embassy saying that the delay is because interview slots are not available and that I should be patient.

"The U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa has not forgotten about this, or any, case Currently, a slot is not yet available at the embassy. Once a slot becomes available the case file will be sent and the applicant will receive an instruction packet and appointment letter from NVC. "
