I managed to get through on Tuesday and again today. I call the 0888 number and have not had to wait longer than 5 mins to talk to someone. I've been calling once a week every week for the past 2 weeks. Although I called twice this week. Got through first try every time.

My fiancé is about ready to schedule his medical. He has received the paperwork I needed to send. He is wondering when he can fill out DS-160? Can he do that anytime? Or does he need this for the medical or just before the interview?

The DS-160 has nothing to do with the medical! He can fill it out anytime before the interview! Good luck!

For the 160...For Dominican Republic, we had to complete that before getting to the payment and scheduling (interview and VAC) stage. Even though medical was walk in, they required our interview confirmation. So at the end it all tied together and the 160 had to be done asap to continue. Check your embassy guides for sure.

Thanks KASH2011 & Trinaqueen for your replies. I reread the email he forwarded to me. It states in the email that after he has all his paperwork together, that he does the DS-160 prior to getting an interview date. He is close to getting all his paperwork together!

We filed on the 13th and from everything we had read so far, we were preparing for a 5-6 month wait (5 because they had transferred to the California Center), so when we got our NOA2 on Oct. 8th we felt so lucky  ! "Only" 3 month!!!! We didn't know that people had been getting it after less than a month since the I-129f started being transferred.:lol::lol::lol:

I dunno wether to laugh or cry or just be grateful that I didn't know before we got our NOA2, otherwise I would have been climbing up the walls the entire time. Oh well, it was still better than the 6 months we had prepared for.

you won't get a reply letting you know they received it. but you can go to https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do and enter your receipt number to check the status of your petition. it'll show that they got your RFE reply

Currently still waiting for NVC to receive my petition from 10/5/2015. I called them yesterday and they stated it wasn't there. How many of you called on the 14th day and got the answer that it was there? Also Should I wait until Friday to call again or call ASAP and continue doing so? I though have not received any notifications in mail or like.
