Good news on our end today! Got an email this morning that our petition is already at the US Embassy in Sydney. We have to reply back to their email with the DS160 Confirmation Number and some other information and then they'll schedule our interview. Since Kate will be here visiting on Friday we're going to wait a few weeks to send back the information they provided so that the interview will get scheduled for November or December sometime and we can spend some time together before she has to go back to Australia.

Good luck to everyone else going for their interviews soon or waiting to hear back on their petition!

Got our packet 3 from the embassy in Dublin today. The only problem is that my fiancé never rang the NVC so we don't have our case number. I assumed that it would be included in the email but it isn't. Has anyone had a situation like this?

I'm actually not sure as we hired an immigration lawyer to take care of everything for us. A family friend works for the firm, but it's been really hard and frustrating trying to communicate with her.

That is a situation that is not uncommon when using a lawyer to process your paperwork. The visa process is such a "eys on" undertaking for the petitioner as they have so many questions to ask that it drives most law firms crazy. So what do they do, they ignore you. This is a easy process to do, that you could do it yourself. I would suggest that you ask and follow here in VJ where you will get answers from "boots on the ground" VJ'rs. This will help verify what the lawyer is doing and saying to insure that the procedures they are following make the most sense. What works in Jersey may not work in Kalamazoo.

Yes we've actually just been following up on things ourselves. It turns out that our application was actually transferred straight to CSC from the Texas Lockbox, which was an information that our lawyer didn't even know. Money down the drain, really. Ah well.

It's just really frustrating for me because I like planning ahead and having all the information that I can have, but I can't exactly make the calls from here. I've told my boyfriend (not fiancée yet because the official proposal hasn't happened yet) that I can make long distance calls, no problem, but he insists on taking care of things himself, which unfortunately isn't his strongest suit. I need to tell him exactly what to ask about our application, and if the conversation veers towards a slightly different direction, he won't ask follow up questions anymore and just satisfy himself with what answers he got. Gahhh! I'm very fond of him, obviously, but sometimes he really frustrates me!

Thank goodness for this forum, I now have an outlet! Sorry for being such a party pooper, everyone! So happy for (and envious) of those who already have their NOA2!

Yes, he is the petitioner.

I already have the papers with me including ITR, W2, 6 mos paystubs, Affidavit of Support.

My interview will be on October 19

I think, there should be no issue then.

Good luck on the interview.

Can I fill out the readiness form today if my medical is on Friday? Just to attempt to speed the process up?

Also does anyone know if we get given our medical results or are they just through the embassy?

Is anyone going through London at the moment? I would ask on the forum but there isn't any place for me to fill out a post on there so I am trying on here. So if anyone is going through London and has scheduled an interview, if you could tell me what the interview scheduling process is like (IE are there many slots left)

Thanks

Call NVC to get your case number as you will need it to start processing everything to ready yourselves for the interview/medical.

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should move over to your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy UK.

Those in this thread, are applying from various Embassies around the world and there are different process for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for those processing through the UK. VJ sub forum is for all things dealing with the US Embassy in the UK and the members there will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

Get the UK K1 Embassy Letter (EL) at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

Good luck and God's speed.

Hello Everyone :)

I am wondering if there'll be a big problem if my Fiance just quit from his work?

What is your reply to the Consulate Officers who is interviewing you and he/she ask "what does your fiancé do for work?" Now remember your answer will determine if you get approved or declined and if you are caught not telling the truth you may never again get the opportunity to move to the USA.

Think long and hard for your answer.
