The best place to be to get answers to your questions is in the sub-forum for your country. To find the sub-forum for your country go to the top of this page, select "Forums", then scroll down the page to "General Discussion Area", then within that area scroll a little ways down to "Regional Discussions". Once in your regional discussion forum go ahead and post your question and those who are knowledgeable for many of your questions "why this", "can you explain this", "where is this" or "why is it taking so long" can be answered.

Just a recommendation to relieve your stress and to enlighten you on what is available in the way of help.

The recommendation from folks on our sub-forum was, "Wait on your packet." My fiancee has to collect various forms, and wasn't sure whether some of them had to be 日本式 (Japanese style) or アメリカ式 (American style).

So we waited, and...ta-da, it arrived at my fiancee's place today! That's about a week and change since we confirmed that the Consulate received our case, and about two weeks since we received our case number from the NVC. Everything is speeding along nicely.

Called the NVC this morning and was on hold for nearly an hour. Good news is that our case was received and sent along to the Bogota embassy yesterday! So 24 days from NOA2 through the NVC; updated my timeline to reflect this. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Hi anyone here that has already sent in an RFE response have any of you received a response already ? I'm just curious on how much time does it add to the waiting time I had an RFE I sent it in on Monday received an email today from USCIS that it was received

We sent in our RFE response on Aug 24, they received it Aug 25 and we got our NOA2 Aug 31

If anyone can answer, should I wait until my case is "Ready" on the CEAC website before my fiance fills out the DS-160 and schedules an interview?

From the sounds of it, I think you have this "bull by the tail" and your not letting go. I love the positive approach your taking.

The dropbox usage is an idea I fully endorse as it is the means to which my wife and I were able to get through this process without a hitch. I hope others do the same as it can save expenses and time.

hi Greenbaum, do you know how long does it takes from the US embassy manila to escalate cases before they can unlock accounts for scheduling? my account was locked up after refreshing the computer and scheduled 3x for the same time and date and i canceled it. i explained what happened to the agent, but everytime i call the US embassy manila they keep on telling me that my case was in the escalation department already and wait for the email from them on when i can schedule. this is very frustrating i will be doing my medical on the 14th and 15th of september. but still no interview date. thanks for the reply in advance

I can say with any certainty as each case before them can be different from yours. The journey your on is all about patience. Just have a little more and this speed bump you hit will settle down.

Keep moving ahead with what you can do now for gathering documents, CFO and medical. You will hear from them soon I am sure.

Use the tools here in VJ to answer "when I am going to get etc. etc." question. Near your picture there is a link for your timeline. Select it and once you're on the next page near your picture you will see "follow similar timelines" and it will populate 12 other couples who are near your dates. Scroll down and you will see a "spreadsheet" style page showing all the variables for measurement for when others are getting the same notice of approval or action. Try it. It really works! If you choose to follow those twelve members then you will get an email every time their status updates.

I followed those that were in my group to give me an idea where they were in processing so I could judge if I was ahead or behind. It's pretty accurate, maybe within a day or so.

This entire process is about patience, those who have the most will have the least amount of stress.
