Is anyone else experiencing long distance to be so much harder this time around now that we're at the final stretch? I'm getting so impatient and sad all the time :(

Yes i was just thinking the very same thing. It's like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel but there is still so much road ahead before you get there. It is also because now the length of time apart is no longer being decided by us. But we've made it this far we can handle a few more months. :)

We're waiting for our NOA2. NOA1 was on 8/3. I'm waking up sad everyday now, whereas before I definitely had more patience. You're not in this alone.

Has anyone received this when logging onto the website:

Account Locked

Your account has been locked for one of the following reasons:

  • Account inactivity.
  • Too many unsuccessful login attempts.

I recently changed my password because i got this before and thought my password had expired, but now it's come up again.

I can safely say it's not due to inactivity because i am on there everyday and therefore all my login attempts have obviously been successful.

Not sure what to do.

Hey everyone,

Ok, so I have a very basic question. I received NOA2 last week, so I know its way too early to start chasing up my case and calling NVC. I'm just wondering, if hypothetically I never called NVC and just let things happen without following up at each stage, who would I hear from next? NVC or my local consulate? Is the next communication in the process just receiving packet 3 from my local consulate? And lastly, if I don't call NVC to find out my case #, etc...do I find that out from the consulate or does NVC send a letter listing that info?

Just a little confused on what happens next and want to know what documents I am waiting on at this point!

Thanks!

Hi Sarah,

Actually, I have the exact same question as we are at the same point in the process. Wondering if I'll hear from the US Consulate in Vancouver or the NVC next?

Thanks,

Kaan

Same situation here too. I do believe the NVC sends a letter to you informing that they have sent the petition to the foreign fiancé consulate. However sometimes the consulate contacts you first with packet 3 saying they got your case before you even get the notice e from NVC because NVC can be a little late sometimes. I assume the notice from NVC will contain your case #. IKR the waiting is the hard part. Best of wishes!

Hey guys,

Quick question: What is the NVC contact number. ?I tried calling them today and it was on automatic voicemail. I just want to know that I have the right number.

603-334-0700.

I know its a little too early but I think I made the mistake of sending our application to Ottawa US consulate rather than Montreal US consulate. I want to be able to fix that and get on that as soon as I can. I read a lot of stories where nvc sent the application to the wrong consulate ( regardless of what was mentioned in the visa pettition) . Any Canadians in the house??? Any advice?

That's for immigrant visa - You'll want to call (603) 334-0888.

when I called earlier this week, i was told that my info is being entered into the system; however, I got a different answer today. my case is not even received from USCIS. hmmmm.... it's been 3 weeks since my NOA2.

Did you ask how that could happen? That's so unfair.. We've been waiting 3 weeks too so it sucks that its filling up the 35 day period but at least we know it wont be any longer. I'm calling when they open.

Well I just called NVC and they said that it'll be definitely there in a week but its still not in their system. She said they're experiencing most people filling up the 35 day period but hopefully it'll speed up for those of you who are still waiting for your NOA2, or actually, for anyone really! We'll reach our 35 day period September 7th but she said it'll be there next week so I will try again next Friday.
