I am planning to have my medical examination last week of September and interview first week of October. Our agent wants us to wait for the letter from the Embassy, because he said "No letter. No Entertaining". But I have friends who just have a screenshot of their MCN as "READY", and they are good to go during their medical and interview.

Question: Is there any instances that the consul will look for Letter of Eligibility, letter from NVC, or Packet 3 as what they call it?

To get entrance to a medical exam at SLEC the only requirement is that St. Luke's doesn't want "the letter" from USEM, they want a copy of the interview confirmation letter/email/webpage printout, OR the NVC letter OR a screen print from CEAC with your MNL#.

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==

More information on the process can be found here for St. Lukes. The problem with "agents and lawyers" is they don't walk the mile. They have the guidelines and they provide that information to you. But, the real truth lies within VJ as these are the people that have the "boots on the ground" and can guide you around the "gotchas"!

That's why I put together my website (link is in my signature below at the twisting arrow" to helps those through the process and around the gotcha's as "I have been there and done that" for the Philippine Embassy. The website is specific to processing through the Philippines. Later on when you do your AOS and Naturalization then my site will help anyone.

And when was your 'agent' going to tell you about the great tools that are available to you here at VJ or the smartphone apps and myUCIS web page that let's you follow your processing each and every step of the way.

:ot2: Anyways. Good luck and this is the best place for you to be to ask questions. Another place you should be is in the Philippines sub-forum found here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

Don't be worried. Your still in the window for adjudication. They just havn't gotten to your file yet. You'll hear something soon, I am sure.

I'm feeling paranoid here because it's almost 2 weeks and still haven't heard from USCIS.

Does anyone know how much longer should I wait before I start contacting them? :clock:

Depends on the service center where your processing through. But some are 2 weeks and others are 30-45 days.

Ugh, it can never be easy for me... I got the letter in the mail from the NVC that our case was sent. However, they spelled her name wrong AND sent it to the wrong consulate! Hopefully this can be fixed with a call to the NVC :(

I was initially looking into it. I wrote on the initial petition that the case be sent to Toronto Consulate. But the Toronto consulate does not take in any K1 visa. Only montreal consulte does(in eastern canada). Thankfully NVC was smart enough to fix it on their own.

However, I read and researched online(before the NVC could fix it... didnt think they were bright enough to do that) to fix it incase there was an issue. All I could come up with ....was that if the package has left NVC they cant do anythign about it.... and you have to wait till the wrong consulate recieves your package, contact them and get them to co -ordinate with the right consulate and get your case tranfered.

On second thought since your name is spelt wrong maybe it will require a different approach.The name spelling can be an issue, I would call the NVC ASAP... they are open till midnight EST (i think ).

Just my two cents... take it with a grain of salt. Me no expert !

We're dealing with a misspelling too. Everything is correct on the USCIS forms, but NVC transcribed my fiancee's name wrong. She said she was able to submit a correction with her DS-160, and she's calling the Consulate Monday to verify that everything is in order and that we don't need to correct anything on the NVC end.

You are indeed correct. A quick Google search showed that all immigrant visas are handled only by the Rio consulate. I just got off the phone with the NVC, they can't change the name and my fiancee will need to deal with the Rio consulate about that.
