AOS RFE's

If you received an RFE for your AOS, would you mind sharing what it was for? I would like to see if there are any trends in the kinds of RFE's that people are getting. I think this will help those beginning the process.

I understand that RFE's can be for almost anything. In the thread, I read what the common ones seem to be. I was asking those that have actually received them and not just speculating. I just wanted to see if there was a pattern for certain items in particular. If you would like to share, thank you. If someone already asked this question, I am sorry for repeating it. Either way, it would be interesting to see what the RFE's have been for recently.

JenT was right in that this has been asked many many times and a search through a few pages of past posts would probably lead you to answers on what most people get RFE's for, but I'll just tell you - the I-864. That is the most common one as far as I can see and the easiest to "mess up" in initial filing (in my opinion) since their instructions ask for one thing but it often turns out they want more (but don't tell you when it's ok to send the minimum and when it isn't, even when you obviously meet the income requirements with the minimum amount of tax returns (1) sent in). My advice, if you haven't already filed, is to send in every possible piece of evidence you are asked for on the I-864 (3 years of tax stuff, employer letter, paystubs, and anything else; you can find it on the form).

Thank you for your response. This isn't for me as I already filed, but several people who will soon be in the AOS process (they recently got their K1 visas) are asking me. I just thought I would help them. Again, if you would like to share thank you; if not, no problem. I didn't mind helping those who are asking and posing the question for them. Sorry if the question is redundant. I will look through other threads as well and share the information with them.

I received a double rfe for my wifes application. The first was for not including her birth certificate (it was included) and the second was for not filling out section seven of the I-864 which the instructions CLEARLY state is not required if your income is sufficient.

I didn't even waste my breath calling them. I had made two exact copies of my submission. I opened the folder and grabbed one without even inspecting it and mailed it off. They accepted the second submission.

I believe that the rfe was just a statistical ploy so that they remain in compliance with some regulation.

My rfe was for tax stuff-1099 forms.
