sorry you feel that way, Marvin.

Mostly, USA Economy is a closed system. Illegal Aliens inside our borders erode our economy. That's it, full stop.

Generalization sucks. But you're not answering my question. By that very definition, isn't that what the founding fathers did? Because I'm pretty sure the Native Americans here had a pretty closed system that was taken from them. Yet, why won't we call them Illegal Aliens?

This illegal alien dehumanized the person he killed you think marvin ?

No more than Roof did when he killed 9 people, but you had sympathy for him. You had no cause to call him names or give him a title. Can you tell me why lib?

Prospective citizen is the most ridiculous thing that I think I've ever heard. There is another immigration forum that I occasionally browse that gets up in arms over being called illegal and this term often comes up. I just don't understand how they could be prospective anythings if they ewi. There's no path to citizenship or residency that way.

Whoa there Marvin. The definition for 'illegal alien' is quite specific - why you trying to stretch it and throw in some history revision? Bad Form, Sir...

The term was first coined by Sheila Jackson Lee during a Labor Day Celebration circa 2006. Was live on c-span. [prospective citizen]. I still not understand why she is still in office, but hey !

Mostly, USA Economy is a closed system. Illegal Aliens inside our borders erode our economy. That's it, full stop.

The US economy has never been a closed system. The US does not produce most of the goods sold within the US. The US does not produce all or even 3/4 of the food sold within the US at this point--look in your grocery store sometime. Many people who are in the 1% are not US-born but came to the US because of how many tax shelter options they have by being here.

The US economy is entirely dependent on other countries. The biggest things that have eroded the US economy is 1) tax loopholes for the very wealthy, 2) sending manufacturing jobs overseas and 3) sending phone and internet customer service jobs overseas.

Abruptly cut off US trade with all other nations for a year and see how 'closed' the system is then. The economy would destabilize and crumble within a month.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

sorry, i have written much about it here over the last 5 years.

I concede your point, but there's a pile o stuff about it being a closed economy for the humans inside it's borders. I won't have the time till Wednesdady to revisit this topic and spew another 1100 words about it.

That is only one definition of the word "alien".

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/alien

Calling someone an "alien" does not dehumanize them, it only describes that they are not a citizen of the country they are currently residing in. Now adding "legal" or "illegal" to that simply describes their status.

Maybe because I'm considered a minority here in this country, but I can't see myself calling someone an alien. That's just me. I was simply pointing out that people tend to decry PC when it's involving minorities. Because when someone from the majority does something wrong, there's never a call for removing PC so they can call them something else.

What stretch? It's a simple question. If a illegal alien is a someone foreign to the country and isn't a citizen, wouldn't that ring true for the founding fathers and the people that came here looking for a better life?

I am a legal alien. Do not see an issue.

Different time and place, North America was unexplored wilderness and there was no clear cut country like their is today. The Indian tribes lived in North America and probably Central America also. What was done to the Native Americans has been lost in history, and really not discussed much in the history books..

I would call the founding fathers more of explores or murderers.........

If we are going to sugar coat every word to make people feel better we need to do it on both sides.. We should not be "deporting" people who are here without authorization, we should "employ placement services to help dislocated persons reach their proper destination"

It hasn't been lost in history. Do some ###### research. It's STILL being done to the children of first nations peoples.
