This was a question that came up...and I was interested to know what ya'll did...

I call his parents by thier first names...per they insistance.

He calls my parents mr and mrs ____. My parents are WAY more formal

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

I still call his mom Miss XXXX, I don't call his dad anything..I guess if I had to give him a name it would be "how are you" :lol: that's the first thing I say when he calls.

I don't know what he calls me parents...I don't think I 've ever heard him call them anything :secret: I guess their names are "hey how are you" too....

I guess the names will come...:clock: lol we're newlyweds

I can't remember what I called my MIL (I learned the arabic word for mom when I was there, but now I'm drawing a blank :lol: ). I'll make sure to learn it again before our next trip! :blush:

My husband calls my parents interchangeably by their first names and mom and dad. I have no idea why. My parents couldn't care less though. :lol:

I call them Suegros (spanish), Suegra or Suegro when referring individually.. my wife calls my folks by 1st name lol

Pras' term for my dad is maamai-gaaru. My term for her mum is atthai-gaaru for her dad maamai-gaaru.

(as my mum has been deceased since 2001, no term used by Pras on that score)

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

We just follow how SO call the parents. It's Mom & Dad for his, Ibu & Bapak for mine (it's Indonesian for Mom & Dad).
