75 days waiting, 2 service requests made. Finally. My biometrics appointment letter has arrived. Scheduled for Friday next week.

Question, does this mean that they are only starting to look at my AOS now?

By the way, my biometrics letter only indicates biometrics for AOS and EAD. But I also applied for AP, should I make another call or just explain to them that I have also applied for AP when I go to my appointment?

Congrats!!! Finally you got your Bio appt. Happy to hear. I don't know if they just start working on your AOS now. Hopefully not. Mine wasn't updated since they got it. Bio suppose to be for only AOS and EAD. No worries. Good luck!

Thanks PishiPishi. Just learned about it(AP doesn't need biometrics)yesterday. Unfortunately,San Fernando Valley Office is behind by about 4-5 months. Nevertheless I am still hoping that they have started my papers. Hope everyhing's fine at your end as well :)

Your husband shouldn't be working without his EAD.

Legally the guy doesn't have to pay him.

"There are rights for people even if they work illegally" - Nope, there isn't and if there is, there shouldn't be.

Unreasonable racist like you shouldn't be giving a chance to speak on a sensible forum like this that involves family matters ... you should be in ya master's camp Donald Trump kissing his ### ...

Someone got bills to pay and needs to help his wife with the workload so he decided to do a legit work in a restaurant and you opened ya stinking mouth that he shouldn't be paid. How inhuman you're.

@ Milton, please tell your husband to let it go and move forward. He should search well and possibly get his info right about his next employer before he starts working for other company cos some work do take advantage of people that doesn't have EAD ... besides, your husband isn't illegal in the country just that it's the uscis that keep wasting people's time for unknown reasons.

I applied for my EAD to be expedited cos my wife was pregnant and they approved it.

You can also apply for expiditing his own too complaining of pilled up bills and see how it goes dear... hang in there, u gonna be fine soon

Please I just applied for Advance Parole yesterday cos I needed to travel soon. My EAD has been out since early September. My question is would they produce another separate card for it or ask me to return my EAD and send in a combo card or the Advance Parole is gonna be just a paper with stamp?

Pls those who apply and receive an advance parole after EAD was sent should advice me. Thanks all

@mymercy i don't think he deserves to be called a racist. He is right by saying @Milton;s husband should not be working and we all know that bills needs to be paid that was why he had to do what he did.

Calling him a racist and saying he should be with his master Trump kissing his whatever is not needed. If his opinion shared is not needed is better to ignore.

@Milton am glad he finally got paid.

Hey, how dare you call somebody racist? Do you know the meaning of this word? usuk2015 just stated her opinion about illegal working that's it. And you in a very aggressive and rude manner is trying to insult her. What kind of person you are? Mixing politics and probably your own jaundice along with weak emotional condition. This thread is not for that kind of attitude.

Can people please stop attacking @mymercy .....What that other person said might of been an opinion but it came off very offensive. The way they said "there aren't laws and if there are there should t be" .... I understand it's wrong to work without your work permit but we aren't just going to starve or be kicked out of our house .... We are doing the correct thing by applying for AOS and EAD . But there is only so much I can provide on my own. And we already owe my family tons of money and don't wish to continue asking for me .... That's why he was working under the table

Using "racist" in this context is not only incorrect but utterly moronic, though; mymercy made an incorrect and utterly moronic point. I think that settles that and people are definitely free to move on.

There's that smell again...

You can call me names for all I care ... You didn't consider his hatred words to someone who was down emotionally "THERE'S NO SUCH RIGHT AND THERE SHOULDN'T BE".

I don't mean to insult him or join words with anyone here but felt he shouldn't have said those words.

I think no one here should use the word racist, especially if the person never mentioned any race and just referred to people working illegally not even remotely mentioning any specific races or anything like that at all. Not to metion illegal workers are not helping the economy of the country we all live in and that is our home now. I agree, there should not be any rights for illegal workers and also there shouldn't be any employers who hire like that, they should be responsible too.

Don't you understand, that USCIS asks for affidavit of support not in vain? The process is long and costly, so they ask USC sponsors to have enough money for all the people in the household not to starve while the new LPR is going through AOS. They are trying to protect us basically. There is no one to blame really. It is hard for everyone to have no extra income, but that is what you sign up for when you decide to make this huge change in your life and it is temporary. Doing it legally is the right way, otherwise we all may join the army of illegal immigrants making it harder and harder for future couples in love to be together.

Please refrain from insulting each other.

Hi everyone! Need some advice.

I have a question related to health insurance and would start a new topic (or look for an answer), but I don't know where to look. :)

(I'll try to make it short)

I am self-employed and my husband just received his EAD, so he did not work in the US before. We have two kids and based on my income last year we received Masshealth insurance for all of us. My husband was also on the list, but had Limited Masshealth (emergency only, which is ok according to what written in the instructions for Affidavit of support).

So now I changed his status to legal immigrant and added his SSN in our profile on HealthConnector. Our income this year is higher, so now we have to pay for the plan chosen through HealthConnector and it is not Masshealth anymore, but we received some Advance Tax credit from the state (it means we do not pay full price for the insurance).

So here is my question: is it ok or I and the other joint sponsor we are going to be sued as we signed the AofS? And if it is not, how do we get a health insurance? I mean I have a right to get lower rate insurance anyway, but my husband should not and we are the same household...

Thank you in advance.

I am not 100% sure, but I think the only person that might suffer consequences from getting any financial help from the Government is the new LPR, not USC sponsors. And also the are things that are in a "forbidden" list and there are some that your husband might be eligible for and can get. Here's something that might help http://www.uscis.gov/news/fact-sheets/public-charge-fact-sheet

I have been studying the subject and Advance Tax is a good way to lower the amount to be paid for his insurance, unless it is not an option anymore due to higher income and you are not eligible.

Obviously you visited your state's health department page. Basicly whatever help they offer is what you can get based on income eligibility of course, other than that just ordinary insurance companies that charge more. That is what I've found out so far.

If I didn't get your question right I apologize and you might want to clarify. Hope it helps!
