Hey all, last Friday my case was updated to:

"On September 18, 2015, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXX, to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by October 18, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

When do I receive the tracking number? Do you think I get the card this week? I start a job next Monday.

You have to call the USCIS customer service number to get the tracking number. They send it out 2-day priority mail, so you should have it soon, yes. :)

Are you able to see your case staus online? When you called they didn't mention anything about your current case status?

When I look at my case status online it just says "Fingerprint Fee Was Received". When I called they told me that they would look into it but they could not tell me whether or not my biometrics appointment letter had been sent out or not.

7/24/2015 - Sent AOS/EAD/AP

7/30/2015 - NOA1 for AOS/EAD/AP

9/21/2015 - still no biometrics appointment...

9/9/2015 - 1st service request (inquiry)

10/6/2015 - 2nd service request (inquiry)

10/16/2015 - EAD/AP APPROVAL via email!!! (approved on 16/10)

Yes, you should have have received it a few weeks after you filed. Your EAD can not be approved without the Bio metrics.

I'm currently waiting to speak to an Immigration Services Officer. Before this, I was on the phone with a USCIS Customer Service Representative and I was basically told to keep waiting because there is up to a 1 year wait to get an approval on the I-485 (which I understand) but I'm just worried about my biometrics appointment so that my EAD/AP combo card can be processed. Needless to say, it was a frustrating conversation.

After speaking with the Immigration Officer, I was told that my biometrics appointment has not yet been sent in the mail and that it has not even been scheduled by my local office (Dallas) as of yet. The Officer told me that if I have not received the biometrics appointment letter in the mail within another 30 days, that I should call them again. I'm really trying to be patient but this is incredibly hard. I would love to start working and get my drivers license. I know that all I can do is wait, but I am not happy.

Well, you can still lodge a service request once your EAD hits 75 days. But it really sucks since everyone else is getting theirs in 60-65 days - hopefully you can sort this out ASAP.

You could try to do a walk in with just your AOS and EAD NOA1's. Walk in's are easy - but I think they need to scan the bar code on the letter to pull your file...

We did biometrics a 2 weeks ago, and my husband said that when he was doing the fingerprints the lady said that he would need to come back in a month to pick up [something, he's not sure what]. I didn't overhear what the lady said from my spot in the waiting room. He was a little stressed and did not hear what she said clearly.

Do we need to go back in? I thought that they would mail his authorization of employment and travel permit within 90 days (hopefully sooner) after the biometrics.

Thoughts?

When I did my biometrics, the lady said they may contact me to go back for a second fingerprint because I had poor fingerprints. But fortunately everything went well and I received my combo card on sep10th. Don't worry they will contact you if they need anything. Good luck!

Thanks for the ideas! Are there any risks to doing a walk-in? What's the worst that could happen?

There isn't any risk really just a loss of time - if you live far away it could be a whole day. (I lived 10 mins away) The appointment is very informal.

When I did it they made me wait until people with appointments went; however, I had the letter.

When you walk in they match the ID to the name on the letter and scan the 3 barcodes. I am really not sure if they can (or are willing) do a lookup without without the bar codes. Regardless, I would defiantly do a walk in the day after you get the letter.
