Hi Guys..I just saw below post on AOS June filers and thought it would be helpful for those that got RFEs:

"Just received AP approval notice! It seems like RFE for I-485 doesn't affect your EAD processing time that much if at all (at least in my case) since today was day 60 since filing my package with about a week of downtime to respond to the RFE notice. I was stressing out so much because of the RFE so i hope this puts others at ease."

Adjustment Of Status:

06/25/2015: AOS/EAD/AP package Sent to USCIS
06/30/2015: Package received
07/03/2015: NOA1 hard copies received
07/10/2015: Biometrics appointment letter received

Yup as I said in the june thread, even with the RFE, I was actually approved for EAD/AP much faster than some filers that didn't have a RFE at all and my case was well under normal processing times so for the july filers with RFE don't lose hope!

Best thing you can do would be to send out the RFE response ASAP.

For filers that want the fastest processing possible, this is what I did to get a update from them within 2 days of sending out the response: Utilize the USPS Express Mail. If you take a look at your RFE hardcopy, you'll see that for Express Mail, they ask you to mail your response directly to the USCIS office's AOS department for immediate processing.

They also have a P.O. BOX for ALL other mail(priority/first class) that most people will send the RFE response to..i'm assuming they don't check this P.O. Box constantly and think of how big this pile will be after a day or two of accumulation..you can make a educated guess that the response in the P.O. Box will take much longer as opposed to having it sent directly to their office. so that extra $10~15 bucks i dished out for express mail was well worth it at the end.

I hope this helps, good luck to you all!

So we need some state driver's license help.

My wife got her ID card, which is only valid for the 90 days from the day she entered on her K-1 visa. Now she wants to test for her driver's license. So the 90 days is up on September 2nd. What experiences have you all had with acquiring a driver's license and how long have they been valid for?

So we need some state driver's license help.

My wife got her ID card, which is only valid for the 90 days from the day she entered on her K-1 visa. Now she wants to test for her driver's license. So the 90 days is up on September 2nd. What experiences have you all had with acquiring a driver's license and how long have they been valid for?

I guess it all depends on which state you're applying from. In Atlanta, my permit was for my i-94 date which should expire on Sept 5. But I went in for my road test last week and I got Driver's License for 4 months with my NOA1.

Some states gives up to 6 months or 1 year with NOA1. So just check their website or call them.

Good luck

Jameel and Kasey- Thanks for sharing, this is good information. I never knew that the NBC reviews the AOS packets and sends out the RFE's. I always thought it was the USCIS Field Offices.
