Hi everyone! Mailed out my docs for AOS last 06/30 but I think i belong more on this thread than the June 2015. :) I just got an update that my case is already ready to be scheduled for an interview :D

*****This visa was approved for my daughter in June of 2016. She came to the US in July 2016 and received her 10-year green card in the mail.

I forgot to update. Will add the dates soon***** 

 

I-751 - Removal of Conditions 

07/24/17 - I-751 mailed to USCIS > 08/09/17 - NOA Received > 09/04/17 - Biometrics Appointment (I think I did a walk-in in August for this) 

01/22/19 - Update on website says green card being produced

Thanks for your help. I just called and she told me to follow the instructions in the RFE.

Oh well, I am happy it's an easy fix and nothing bad. I'll get a new certified copy

and send it out tomorrow, as it's a holiday today in Rhode Island.

Is her birth certificate a long form or a short form? And maybe you already know this. We had an RFE during K-1 process because we sent a copy of a birth certificate that was a short form that they do not consider the proof of citizenship. On the other hand if it is a certified copy as you say then it probably comes from vital records office. Anyways, I hope everything goes smooth for you!

I had read, that people had problems in the past about the short version of the birth certificates. That's why I went to the Vital Records department in Providence

and obtained a certefied copy of the original birth certificate. I just looked at the copy I made of the whole package and it does say on the top: State of Rhode Island

and Providence Plantations and it states where she was born in the state. It's a little hard to read, as the writing is from 1942 but I don't think that matters, since I'm

sure they have plenty of experience with those kind of records. Oh well, just happy it wasn't something major like: we don't accept your co-sponsor or something like that!

Hi all, we were told by an IO this morning that our expedite request for our I-131 has been approved. We will be receiving something in the mail sometime in the next two weeks.

I may call USCIS again this afternoon or tomorrow just to confirm it's been approved (as site not updated) and to confirm what the heck we will be receiving. The IO wasn't super helpful but does this mean that they are looking at our case and that we will be getting S's advance parole documents (if case approved) in the next two weeks? Or just confirmation that it has been expedited? Argh! We are supposed to be on a flight out of the country in two weeks exactly.

Hope your RFE come soon and hope it easy piece that they need,

I got my biometric done yesterday. Tons of ppl there , I got there 50 mins early but still have to waited one hour and a half until my turn. Took only 5 mins to do a ngerprint and photo shoot. ( I was thought it gonna be quick since everyone seems get it done quick)

But finally everything done!
