By your timeline, you are AOS from the I130. You're in the right place. No need to go to tourist and student thread.

I highly doubt that the visa your husband came in on will affect your I130 or I485 in any way. If anything it would just cancel out one visa for another.

Good luck to you!

Thank you! I am happy to be part of this July 2015 thread. Despite the different entry visa, we seem to be on a similar timeline as everyone else. Good luck to you too!

Hi all, we received an RFE last week. I had submitted an English translation version of the birth certificate, and the RFE asked for us to send the original birth certificate in the actual language, as well as the English translation.

One question: do you know if it's OK if I send a copy of the RFE letter, or do I need to send the original one? I am traveling right now, and won't have the original RFE letter in my hands till early next week. Thanks!

How soon did you received RFE after sending your AOS application? I am worrying now as I only sent a copy of birth certificate and not original. I was under assumption copies were sufficient.

Copies are sufficient for the birth certificate. I would assume that PP photocopy may have not been clear enough to read so they are asking for the original.

Our RFE came about 3 weeks after. With hers they wanted the foreign language birth certificate, and the translated one, it seems.

Per USCIS- They are currently expecting technical difficulties with their online system. They are hoping to have the issue resolved soon. If you are unable to view your case online after receiving the hardcopy NOA to allow 30 day for a biometrics letter. If you don't receive a biometrics letter within 30 days of receipt of NOA or you're still unable to access the case online after 45 days to call their customer service number.

Hi everyone,

July 1st: Packet was sent through USPS

July 3rd: Packet was delivered to Chicago lockbox

August 6th: Biometrics appointment

Unfortunately my fingerprints were not visible enough in the scan. The lady in charged tried to redo the scan for several times but no luck and 3 of my fingers did not pass. She said maybe I have to go back if FBI wants me to redo the scan. Anyone else here who had the same problem? It can delay the process for at least one month :clock:

Thanks

Some people (around 5%) have extremely shallow fingerprints that cannot be recorded clearly. The FBI may reject these prints because of the poor quality. If my fingerprints are rejected twice by the FBI for I-485 case; I have to obtain police certificates to submit to the USCIS.

I am sorry to hear that. Please try not to worry beforehand. I heard of a few people that had to come in twice for the fingerprints because they (FBI) couldn't read the scan. But after the second time everything went well and they got their combo card(EAD and AP) and are waiting for the GC interview soon. So it is just a little bump on the road. I am sure everything will be fine in the end. Cheer up! Edited by Ksenia1985
