I don't know what to say, I was able to check my case status online the minute I received my electronic NOAs. The problem might be that they upload the information on the website, something like this. Anyways it's just the time problem eventually you can view your case.

Yep, my hard copies are also from Lee's Summit and on Uscis official website it says that Greene County belongs to Kansas City local office, this though contradicts the information from local website, where it says that our county's local office is in St. Louis. I'm honestly so disappointed about St. Louis, because all the process takes there 3 -4 months longer than in Kansas City.

and no, I couldn't reschedule my biometrics appointment, because I wanted just to shift it on the next day. Even then I would have mailed a written request and, considering snail mail, I doubt that the new appointment could make it here by the right time. So I guess we just get up at 5:40 a.m to be there by 9:00 am.

That's crazy! I too looked up my local office by county, obviously we're in the same county, and it lists KC. I wonder why they sent it to STL? Perhaps they changed but not update their website?

Or maybe some cases go STL and others go KC? I am looking forward to getting the biometrics letter now. I hope it doesn't say STL, I hate driving in STL. Gonna have to take my gun. LOL

I wonder if they got the county right but the state wrong? Illinois also has a Greene County and it is handled by STL.

I have zero desire to be processed in St. Louis as well, hope you guys will be at least in KC, anyway keep us posted about your biometrics and I'll do the same about mine.

P.S. when I called USCIS customer service and asked to give me the local phone number of ST. Louis office, the girl politely said that we have the same information with her that I can reschedule my aptm ONLY via mail and she cannot provide any local phone numbers. sad

I don't believe AOS is to be sent to a NBC. Here is a link that shows where to mail the AOS to.

My attorney's office mailed to National Benefit Center, I don't know if this is correct place to mail. More importantly, it should not take this long, and the attorney's office doesn't have tracking number.

I called USCIS yesterday they said it might up to 30 days, so around 10th of this month, same response from my attorney's office. What I can do now?

Screw your attorney. The very first thing you should do is to brake contract with them and inquire the compensation.

Otherwise maybe the specific type of your visa involves sending your case to National Benefit Center. Do you file for AOS? Is the information correct and your visa type is f2a? I'm pretty sure that Chicago lockbox is the service center that is responsible for AOS. Hope I'm wrong and you will hear about wherever you sent your case soon.

100% agree, attorney is the worst ever to deal with.

Yes, my information is definitely correct, green card based petition, and my Priority Date become current on August 1st 2015, so the attorney's office mailed out AOS (I-485, I-765) out on 7/13. and everyone said should have the Receipt Number by now, this makes me so frustrated.

First mistake was hiring an attorney.

You clearly don't trust or like what your attorney is telling you or you wouldn't be here.

Your file should not have been sent to a National Benefits Center.

Since you did hire an attorney who potentially sent your case to the wrong place you'll just have to wait on the results he gets you. You are paying him afterall.

Since your file has already been sent, I am not sure if there is a way to reroute or even track your case.

You may be able to call USCIS and talk to a Tier 2 representative, they may be able to tell you more information on your case.

Well hope they will be useful and give you more information. It is really weird that the law firm didn't provide you a tracking number, unless they sent it by USPS snail mail. I am really sorry for this bad experience for you.

Thanks for your words kattaklizm, just called Tier 2 rep told me nothing she searched out for this year, only found I-130 but it is from 2013. She suggest contact LockBox see if the package still there... and normally takes 3 - 4 weeks to put in system, then she starts push me around.

Hi all, we received an RFE last week. I had submitted an English translation version of the birth certificate, and the RFE asked for us to send the original birth certificate in the actual language, as well as the English translation.

One question: do you know if it's OK if I send a copy of the RFE letter, or do I need to send the original one? I am traveling right now, and won't have the original RFE letter in my hands till early next week. Thanks!
