Hi All,

The time has come for my husband's AOS and the return of the stress and anxiety of what will happen next. I have read and reread the guidelines and process of the I-751 and it seemed pretty "straight forward". However, in every process I have read it states that after the Service Center (in our case VT) receives the application they send out a NOA and a one year extension on his conditional green card (within approximately one to two weeks).

It has been almost three weeks since my check was cashed for the application fee + biometrics fee and all we have received is a FD-258 "Finger Print Receipt Notification". I have not read anything about the FD-258 form. I can't help but wonder if I have done something wrong. Is there something I am supposed to do when receiving this form?

Should I sit tight and continue to wait for the NOA? We still have a month and a half before the conditional green card expires, but I am still getting nervous.

Any information on this FD-258 would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!!!

I received my NOA one month after I submitted my I-751. I received a Biometrics appointment letter with my NOA and then went for my biometrics appointment. I did not receive an FD-258.

If you are concerned, maybe you could make an InfoPass appointment and take the FD-258 with you to ask what is happening with your case. It sounds like they are "confirming" your fingerprinting, which you have not done yet. Before it goes on too long, you might want to sort it out.

Make sure you do not travel outside the US with the expired GC. You will need the NOA (which extends the conditional GC for one year) to re-enter the US after travel abroad.

I am confused are you filing for AOS or to lift conditions after getting your Greencard???? in another post you talk about doing AOS.... and you have posted this in AOS forum not Lifting Conditions....

Kez

I apologize....I am so confused as well. I filed an I-751, so I am lifting conditions, but I think with doing all my research somehow I translated that into Adjustment of Status, because we are going from conditional to permanent.

Thanks to your post I have looked at the lifting conditions forum, and now I see where the FD-258 is coming into play.

My nerves have been on edge since filing the packet, and I thank you for turning me in the right direction!!!
