I had my interview today at 10am and it was approved.

I need help how to contact the embassy to return my original documents. It was late when I realized I dont have them.

I was asked for the originals only at window 1 abd at window 8 got few questions asked and after tahr no more. please help how can i get back my orig docs

thank you dwells , saylin, and to others who helped me to go through with the process. it took 2 and half hour to get it done.

waiting time was 2 hours but the interview was only 5mins with 3 questions for me and one for my husband.

It brought me tears when I realized I dont have my original documents?. I was totally devastated to think on how to get those back because I submitted also my original docs that I need here in Canada. I was organized and prepared but after the interview news i forgot my documents! ? IO didnt remind me either? poor pregnant woman ? hahahaha! oh well i am very happy though after all, this journey is almost over!

Dear belllez214, I really feel for you about your original documents as I know how important it is to not lose them. Let me tell you what I would do. I would just call the Embassy (we are able to call directly as it is a small Embassy) or go straight to it and make such request. I have no idea how big your Embassy is. Ours is very little and I would really feel comfortable to go to the guards cubicle even without an appointment (the guards can call to the consular service about it) and ask for my originals before the staff put them to archives.

Bellez214 check in the Canadian forum to see if the originals are returned with your Visa packet. I know many embassies do that. So hang on okay.

I would like to go back the moment i realized it but was too late coz we have to fly with my family back to toronto for me and my family to San Francsico.

I called NVC and I spoke to Rose and she gave the direct line but unfortunately the Embassy does not answer telephone queries so only email.

I emailed the Us em Montreal and Only acceptance receipt received. ?

I was hoping that to be heard from Rose ( NVC) and she told me that originals should be returned right away after interview but because it happened she told me to call them only and asked for it. ?

I just wonder why NVC is not scheduling Lagos interviews. There are many CCs since early June still awaiting interview dates whereas a Visa Officer from Lagos Consulate said they had sent interview slots for August and September to NVC since the first week of this month. I am just having a feeling that NVC is deliberately holding up our cases. Not cool at all.

Yes I hope The Santo Domingo starts already anyone heard any news about the DR Embassy tomorow its the 29th. Looking at the spred Sheet by this time end of month they had started already......

I am guessing after the 30th Thursday they will start, I called nvc today one guy said I am not even aware of when interviews are given or when do they start or when do they finish, we have no idea, you or the applicant will be informed by email. Waoo....

The reason why I said NVC holds cases up is because I got an approval from Lagos consulate to expedite the process. So I called NVC to ask if they had sent the case to Nigeria for interview but the person I spoke with told me a supervisor is "reviewing it to verify that the case is documentarily complete". And I was like: That is just ridiculous. What is there to review again? The status is obviously showing in their system that the case is completed since June so I just don't understand what they are doing. What made me mad the most was the customer rep telling me that the "review" could take up to 30-40 days. Imagine that!
