I am checking back in - the interview for my stepdaughter was done today. It went well! They had to go get a new birth certificate in the morning before their 11AM interview. Her and her mother went into the consulate and only my stepdaugher went into the interview. She is 14 years old and was asked:

What is the name of your step mother?

How long has your dad been married to your step mother?

Do they have any children?

What is the full name of their child?

What is the full name of your father?

That was about it. They said she was approved but we have to give them the original copy of our marriage license. They sent me an email saying I could send it to the embassy of El Salvador in WA DC so it would get there quicker. I am going to send it as well as the updated I-864EZ as they never requested it from her.

I can't believe our journey is almost done! Visa isn't in hand but... we have made it?!

Wow that's some questions for a 14 year old. Good for her. Congratulations. If they didn't ask for the I-864 why send it. That might delay you further since they may want to verify information and such.

I have a question. My interview is on august 10th but I check the ceac site and it still says "at nvc"is this normal?

Normal. Our cc was on May 13. Ceac showed "at NVC" for a very long. Then "in transit", then "ready" on June 25.

That is just my theory because I see some people getting an appt quickly after their cases are closed while others who have had their cases closed for mths are still waiting. Plus, if the priority dates didn't matter, I don't see why they would include it in the letter from NVC when the case gets closed.

I agree with you - I think this matters to the degree that the hand out appointments. Objectively, if two people have the same CCs, but one was "in the system" longer than the other, chances are they would give the appointment to the one who was waiting longer. Even though that is unfair to the one who got their CC date quicker!

I was thinking the same thing. My Cc was June 16 and someone with June 29 and July 7 Cc recieved thier interview date last week for August. Im so upset.... I hope Nvc will do it fair and square.  :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting:

**Were on the same consulate MTL.

Don't feel too bad - my CC was May 12 and I am still waiting for an interview date in MTL!

I wish I knew that it would be up to us to speed up/slow the NvC process. I should have start the process July last year.

I think the NVC put our docs behind because I'm just a month ahead of you. This really sucks.

This is what we call the reality coming. Now you a just weeks away from Happy ever after. How awesome is that. :goofy:

It's thrilling but terrifying at the same time lol

my husband told me today ( now that everything is in his hands..with the interview coming up) that he finally understands why I have been so stressed out..and why I was so focused on completing each step as accurately and efficiently as we could
