I know I was also told the same this morning and my CC is April 28th. I know of two people who got scheduled for August with April 27 CCs. I was soooo hoping for August. I'm super bummed but at least we are just waiting for interview and everything else is already out of the way. Good luck and hope there are any cancellations and/or openings.

You don't have to worry about the priority date for the visa your getting, Cr1/Ir1. It does not apply for this visa since it always has availability :)

I had read before that the priority date doesn't matter with a CR1/Ir1 Visa but I am starting to think otherwise due to other cases I have seen. I have seen many people waiting for an appt for Mexico since April and then there are others who have their case closed and within a wk they receive an appt because their priority date is from prior to 2013.

That is just my theory because I see some people getting an appt quickly after their cases are closed while others who have had their cases closed for mths are still waiting. Plus, if the priority dates didn't matter, I don't see why they would include it in the letter from NVC when the case gets closed.

I think one of them was June/August 2014. They don't have a timeline.

I am checking back in - the interview for my stepdaughter was done today. It went well! They had to go get a new birth certificate in the morning before their 11AM interview. Her and her mother went into the consulate and only my stepdaugher went into the interview. She is 14 years old and was asked:

What is the name of your step mother?

How long has your dad been married to your step mother?

Do they have any children?

What is the full name of their child?

What is the full name of your father?

That was about it. They said she was approved but we have to give them the original copy of our marriage license. They sent me an email saying I could send it to the embassy of El Salvador in WA DC so it would get there quicker. I am going to send it as well as the updated I-864EZ as they never requested it from her.

I can't believe our journey is almost done! Visa isn't in hand but... we have made it?!
