Scan date is the date on the letter send by the NVC when it receives your IV and AOS packages. There's also a "checklist scan date", which is when they receive the documents/corrections requested on a checklist (which usually resets the processing and adds ~30 days).

I called NVC I asked the agent why is it that people have a later scan date than mine got their documents reviewed, but mine no one has touched yet!! he said that cant be possible because they don't pick or chose and they don't favor. its first come first serve!! yeah true I believe them :ranting: my scan date was june 22nd and I read on the thread that people scan date were after mine and got CC. NVC is not first come first serve!!!

@VJ experts,

Does the IV bill come in the welcome package? I realize that on members' timelines, the AOS bill comes in welcome package from NVC. Where does the IV bill come from? Is it that it's in the NVC portal? Please advise. Thanks

Dear fellow VJers your expert help is needed with my AOS. I have been a homemaker for the last 7 years with 0 income. I recently accepted a job in the U.S. When it asks for my income do I put my anticipated salary for the upcoming year and a copy of the contract or do I put 0. I should add the job doesn't begin until the end of August, but I am considered employed by this particular school district.

I think you would put 0 as you haven't started yet. But come time for the interview, it wouldn't hurt to bring a copy of the contract and you can further explain to them when it started and what not.

Once you pay your AOS bill, your IV bill will be generated and sent to you by email (I got mine via email)

Hey everyone.

I recently got a checklist from the NVC, where they had issues with 3 things.

They claim that my birth certificate was issued by the wrong authority, but this is only because they haven't updated their information regarding which institution issues Icelandic birth certificates.

An NVC customer representative told me I had to write them a statement to explain that their information is wrong. Does anyone have any experience with doing this?

It also turns out I need an Austrian police certificate since I lived there for 9 months (almost 10 years ago), but the NVC website says I only need it if I lived there for longer than 1 year. Has anyone had to deal with this issue?

The third issue was actually my fault and I know how to fix that.

Thanks for any help. :)

Called NVC today and received both our case and invoice ID numbers. Provided our email addresses as well. Question, since we provided our email addresses, do we still have to fill out the DS-261?

Yes you do! You have to fill out the DS-261 and wait for it to be reviewed before they will issue you the IV fee invoice

try logging in to the CEAC portal every day! I had my case number assigned on the 27th of may and was able to log in the next day. Sometimes it takes 2-3 days before you can log in and sometimes it might take a lot longer!

Good luck!

I called the NVC this morning and they didn't assign me a case number yet. They received our approved petition since the 21st July. Today's my birthday I should get my case number after all
