Finally I received welcome letter from nvc. I have read the wiki by saylin.I wanted to update time line but I am not sure how to figure out the date nvc received my case xxx2015567*** how to calculate date from this number.

thanks in advance.

2015 is year. next 3 are days e.g. if your is 567 then it is 567-500 and 67th day is march 7th

quoting ms saylin from the wiki

How to Find Out WHEN Your Case Number was Assigned

For those that don't call every single day and want to know exactly what date their case number was assigned, there's an easy way to find out that simply involves looking at your case number. The first three letters are the three-letter consulate/embassy code. The next four numbers are the year the case number was assigned. The next three numbers are the Julian date it was assigned, plus 500. And finally, the last three numbers are the sequential order of when it was assigned that date. You can find a chart with Julian dates here [12].

For example: MTL2014815162. Let's put some lines in to divide it up. So: MTL|2014|815|162. This means that this case is going through Montreal and the number was assigned on November 11th, 2014, and it was the 162nd case that day to be assigned a number.

Sivin, i am confused with your situation, only the beneficiary's PCC is needed. e.g. i sent my husband's PCC from regional passport office and to be safe we got one from local police as well. I did not send a PCC for me 'coz i am the USC (petitioner) and even i am an OCI.

not sure who is the beneficiary in your case, you only need theirs not the petitioners. hope this helps, if not ping me and we can discuss further.

Sorry, I think I confused you,

I am the beneficiary and my husband is petitioner who is USC.

are you registered with regional passport office? I am not registered as I am in OCI. So as per their statemet I sent the police clearance from the Police commissioner office. But they want the police clearance from regional passport office. We can get from regional passport office only if we are registered. Waiting for their sun rise to talk to a supervisor.

Non-Indian applicants who reside in India and are not FRRO registered, such as foreigners holding Overseas Citizen of Indian status, should obtain police clearance certificates from the District Police Station serving their area of residence.

is your husband in India by OCI? or he is a Indian National. If he is a Indian National then what you have done is correct.

My situation I am staying in India with OCI..

Looked some more and it looks like it's an Australia-wide police certificate but you have to apply for it in the state that you live. Since he'll be doing this in the next couple weeks, I think he'll just have to do it in QLD. Would I check with NVC or the embassy since it's country specific?

Country specific instructions are all there on NVC site. If they can check nationwide database for finger prints or name from the state he is living in, he should be fine for one certificate from Australia.

Hello all

Just wanted to update you all

Our AOS bill payment had finally been recorded.

Paid 05/20, recorded 07/14

Our docs have been received and completed

We are missing IV bill and DS260

A Sup called me today, I was floored

Said that IV bill is on it was but they have a serious backlog so the standard processing days do not apply

At least something has changed

Just got off the phone with an NVC agent and she was gladly able to review my DS-261 choice of agent and she told me i should expect my IV invoice via email between 7-10 days. However, i was wondering if i should have gotten a confirmation email or something of that kind by now or if i should just wait the 7-10 days for the IV invoice.

Thank you, K & V! It has been 2 weeks since we got NOA2. We called the first time yesterday and luckily we got to talk to a person. Hopefully the next time we call they'd have assigned our case number and IIN already. Have you tried calling NVC?

I'll let my husband know so we could call again tomorrow. Just another question, how long did it take before NVC received your case? Thank you, Dyattaw! :)

I called the NVC last week and was able to get a rep on the phone, but apparently they haven't received our case yet. I will call again either tomorrow or Thursday to check on the delivery confirmation. This week is two weeks since getting the NOA2.

Did you ever get a delivery confirmation that NVC received your case when you called?
