I just called NVC. She told me that my case is in the queue. All appointments for August in Montreal are booked. I will probably get a September appointment. As soon as the consulate opens the appointments, the appointments will be booked from the queue which is computerized.

USCIS just emailed us that they forwarded out case to the NVC today for consular processing. How long before we hear from the NVC?

If God takes us to it, He'll bring us through it. He'll never take us where His grace cannot reach and keep us

In regards to the AOS form and what line to use, it's not dependent on what form you're filing (I-864, I-864A, I-864EZ). It's dependent on what tax form was filed for each year. So, for the past three years, you need to look at each tax year individually and determine what tax form was filed (1040, 1040A, 1040EZ), and put the amount based on that. Keep in mind, different tax forms may be filed from year to year (ex: 1040 may be filed one year, but the 1040EZ may be filed another year), so be careful.

Once you figure out what tax form was filed, read the instructions on the AOS form for that question as to what amount needs to be used based on what tax form was used (total income vs adjusted gross income).

Yeah Saylin,I think I figured it now. AOS nstruction says ''FOR PURPOSE OF THIS AFFIDAVIT,THE LINE FOR TOTAL(GROSS)INCOME ON IRS FORM 1040 WILL BE CONSIDERED....

So i should write my TOTAL(gross)income.... and not the adjusted gross income(AGI).... Right???

But here is the dilemma, I put AGI on first AOS form and did not get checklist for that.....

So what should I do now??? just correct the mistakes CL pointed out or should I correct it too(go for Total(gross)income rather then AGI....

Urgent help needed please

I will say, it's safe to get a police certificate. By the way, does Australia have different police certificate for different states?

2-3 months is a short time, but if you call that place home for a certain time, and not a place for tourism, I think you would need it. Again, check with NVC supervisor for your unique situation.

Looked some more and it looks like it's an Australia-wide police certificate but you have to apply for it in the state that you live. Since he'll be doing this in the next couple weeks, I think he'll just have to do it in QLD. Would I check with NVC or the embassy since it's country specific?

I got a checklist.

Even though I have sent a police certificate from District office, I have to call and explain to them I guess. Let me try. Its going to go for supervisor review.. :(

Obtain Indian Police Clearance Certificates as follows:

- All Indian nationals aged 16 and above, residing in India, should obtain police clearance certificates from the Regional Passport Office.

- Indian passport holders residing outside India should obtain a statement from their local Indian Embassy, Consulate, High Commission, or Deputy High Commission confirming they have no criminal record.

- Non-Indian applicants who reside in India and are Foreigner Regional Registration Ovvice (FRRO) registered should obtain police certificates from the FRRO serving their area of residence.

- Non-Indian applicants who reside in India and are not FRRO registered, such as foreigners holding Overseas Citizen of Indian status, should obtain police clearance certificates from the District Police Station serving their area of residence. - Indian police certificates are not available for foreign (non-Indian) applicants residing outside India.

I am a Overseas Citizen of India, so if I send the District police certificate that should be enough. My husband called to them they asked to provide from FRRO , he explained to them about this. They said they will put a note for this and a supervisor will check it. Meantime can I send the documents again, for safer side? OR will it trigger the 30days timeline?

Sivin, i am confused with your situation, only the beneficiary's PCC is needed. e.g. i sent my husband's PCC from regional passport office and to be safe we got one from local police as well. I did not send a PCC for me 'coz i am the USC (petitioner) and even i am an OCI.

not sure who is the beneficiary in your case, you only need theirs not the petitioners. hope this helps, if not ping me and we can discuss further.
