Hey guys I have a question.

We sent AOS and IV packages (according to the list here and on their website) for CR-1, but forgot to fill out DS-260. In June got a checklist that said "All traveling immigrant visa applicants on your case are required to complete and submit the DS-260 Online Immigrant Visa Application." Since it's more than 30 days since the checklist date (May 26) and since we filled out the form (June 5), we decided to call NVC and find out if there is any progress.

Lady told us that she doesn't see petitioner's birth certificate and that we must send that. (she also said that they haven't reviewed the form yet)

Did we really miss the fact that we had to send this certificate or was she just confused or something? As we are both in a different country it's a bit of a pain to get the certificate right now.

What should I do??

Hello all.

My parent's case was approved by USCIS on June 1st. Seeing by the time lines and reading other people's posts everyone who was approved around the same time has already received their case number and have even gone online to pay their fees. I am trying to figure out how to check if NVC received my parents case and what their case number is. Does anyone know which number I should call? The number provided on their website keeps saying "high volume of callers and then it disconnects." I know most of you have receive your case numbers and even paid the fee already. How can I go about this please.

I-130 application mailed: 05.01.15

Keep trying, its always hard to reach them. I usually get in about the 20th - 30th time. Don't give up!

Best hours to call are early in the morning (they open at 7am EST) and late at night (they close at midnight).

Good luck!

Anamaral, it must be your mothers maiden name (the last name she had when she was born). If your mother carried her maiden name all the time, and if her maiden name is on your birth certificate, then you got it right.

I don't quite understand how she has "different Maiden name"?

Submitted DS-260 after the IV fee was cleared last night. MY AOS and IV package was received by NVC on 6 July but NVC says they have not received it yet. I have also not received any email confirmations.

Petitioner's birth certificate is not required if you are petitioning for your spouse
