NVC Filers - July 2015

I called the NVC. Even the case was closed on June 11th it is still attached to the cases of my older kids (who will join us in a later date) Now those cases show they have been granted another year extension, but still linked and show as pending to attend the interview with us. This is just nuts!!! How can they grant an extension and still show them as pending to attend the interview with us??? The lawyer said she had already sent the email for the extension and asked for them to be unlinked. Strikes to me maybe she did not ask for the cases to be unlinked... Now the rep told me to mail them and ask these two cases to be unlinked and that it was gonna take from 30 to 40 days to be looked at. This is just too much. Im so upset right now and I guess I should focus on something else.

Sure it has been asked a million times, but how do you find out your scan date (other than waiting for a letter to arrive in the mail). Can I call the NVC and they will tell me? Will they automatically email me?

Yes you can

You can call them, tell them that you want to check if they have received the docs

If yes, ask them what is the scan date

They can actually tell you both dates; mail received (mail receipt), documents received (scan date)

i.e.

our mail date was 05/21 ( Rep said.. we received mail from you on 05/21)

scan date 05/27 ( we received your civil and AOS documents on 05/27)

Finally I am Done with DS-260... spent whole night waiting for it to change to PAID, and as soon as I got it Completed it.

I hope I didnt do any mistakes. For me also it didn't ask past work experience and education details. Only the current employer and no phone numbers..

When the nvc stage is complete is there a notice when you sign in to the nvc website? Or is it just an email that the nvc completed processing of your case and forwarded your immigration petition to the embassay with the date forwarded?

Mothers "surname at Birth"

Is this her surname at HER birth (maiden name) or my birth(current surname)?

SabeehNajem, when i filled the ds260 i put the mothers name shown on the petitioner's birth certificate, so the maiden name. but since Indonesia the name doesn't change when married.

Yeah this form is not about you the petitioner, its about the beneficiary.
