NVC Filers - July 2015

Nothing is certain with the NVC.. If you sent your DS260 before they even touched your case (your IV and AOS packages), I think it won't matter then when you sent it, they will look at the whole thing.

Checklist scan date 29th July

it is the 8th day. I feel like i spent 8 years. Days r becoming slow

I wish NVC completes my case soon. any idea how long nvc takes nowadays to process any case after the checklist ?

Hey everyone.

Now that I've filled out the DS-260, I'm curious about how long I should expect to wait until I get a 'case complete' (assuming I don't get checklisted).

When I finished the DS-260, it said that they'd take 30 days to review. However, they received all of my documents on June 13th.

Does anyone know if they take 30 days to review the documents, and 30 days to review the DS-260, separately?

I was hoping, perhaps foolishly, that if I was able to finish the DS-260 within 30 days of them receiving my documents, that I would theoretically be done on July 13th.

I guess more realistically it will be completed on August 6th?

Our checklist scandate is June 24. We filed Ds260 today. Rep said: The 30 day of ds260 processing time starts June 24, so same date as our sd of checklist item.

Personally I find that hard to believe, cuz technically that means that it would only take them 3 weeks as from today, not 30 days. My experience was never that positive with nvc......

well we really are neck o neck at nvc... almost same SD and ds 260 filling.. lets see how wins the race

Yes you are right... realistically 6 august..but in forums I have seen a lot of cases with lot of variability nowadays in nvc processing... SO fingers crossed and Lets hope for the best.

I hope you're first after taking a look at your timeline. But I hope I'm not too far behind.

What will most likely happen is that around the 30th day mark from your scan date (june 13th), they will open your file to finally start working on your case. They will see your DS260 there as well, along with the fees you paid.

What happened to us is at the 30th day mark, they didn't have our DS260 (we couldn't access it due to website issues) and we got a checklist instead. Now, after they got the DS260, it will take them another 30 days.

I see. I sure hope I get something before August 6th, but this being the NVC I'm not too optimistic.

*high five* back! Soooo pleased, the operator - Darcy - was actually really nice and sounded pretty happy. We had fun when I couldn't say the word 'beneficiary' and she said to hold tight for a while and around 7 days time should receive the email notification also, with interview being most likely around September though it's obviously down to the embassy to arrange/decide.

yes, they ask for very specific dates on the work/education/training topic. I just wonder how strict they are. Unfortunately my laptop and my back up drive are infected by a virus, so all my documents are compromised. ;s So all docs like work contracts and pay slips are unusable, I tossed out all hardcopies long time ago. So I need to be creative on how to retrieve that information......Especially difficult when some companies and faculties are non-existent! Otherwise I would just call.

Oh well, there's one or two minor things I wasn't too sure. As start date I just filled in the first of the month, at least I was sure about the month! I signed the ds260 and send it. If they wanna know additional stuff, I will hear it at the interview. I'm confident I filled it in good enough. I'm just wondering, are they really gonna check if so and so attented college in this and that year, in a faculty that is not even there anymore. I don't think it's such a big deal. At least, I hope, lol.

I sincerely hope it is not a big deal, or I can explain it during the interview. I made up some minor things too as I could not retrieve some information. It is funny, 3 of my previous work places either got closed of went on bankruptcy Lucky enough I could find some non existing phone numbers by googling. I cracked up when I had to give one of my previous bosses phone number who is Austrian and lives in Austria now. All I am sure about my ex boss liked me very much and he will be able to confirm the information if anyone would call him.

I think some of the questions were very basic ones and formally didn't apply to me. It was important for DV lottery winners (I just assumed it).
