Hello.

We were able to fill our DS 260 finally yesterday!

I however noticed today that under the work/education/training information area, there is no tab for previous work/education/training.....

There's only a "Present"and "Additional" tab, no "Previous"...

Anyone experienced this? ...how do we solve this? Would this affect anything?

Please help!

Thanks.

For me I can "add another" or "remove". I click on add another for previous emplyers.

Same thing with me. My previous schools change their names (I put original names that are on my graduation certificates or diplomas), 3 work places that I worked at are being closed, no longer exist. I still had saved original agreements I signed with them, put their addresses and my bosses names. You have to state the fact where you worked at and how long, you don't have to explain that the company no longer exists. If the company went on bankruptcy it doesn't mean you never worked there. Just put all info that you have.

And how specific were you in the start date of for example college? One school I don't exactly know start day and end day. I know month and year, but don't know how strict nvc is or if they are actually checking it.

Yeah, i guess that makes sense.

So hubby called nvc just to be sure and the rep said, put in all info you have, you may also put closed or bankrupt behind company /school name. When you go for your interview, and they have questions, they will ask it then and there.

That's right. Good luck to you (F)

"Work/Education/Training" Information section was quite specific. It required full date with day/month/year. Yes, it took me nearly 2 days just to gather all information before I started filling it. I am a saving freak so I was able to go over my documents and find all info I needed :)

The bigger problem I had with "Personal/Address and Phone" info section. Even though it did not require full data only month/year I managed to make few mistakes. The window then popped up saying something like "you have a gap of 2 months on your place of living; please fill up a gap". The system didn't allow me to submit the info and go on to the next page. I had to go over in handwriting draft and then copy it to the 260 form.

As I said, it took me couple of days to do 260, but I did it as precisely as I could.

I hope it helps some :)

Yes, but for us, we don't even have the previous work area on the form at all!

After asking about present primary occupation, the next question is "have you ever served in the military? "....and then it moves on to "petitioner information"

I'm however assured by responses from Saylin, SiVin and others that it is not out of place at all.

Thank you for caring to respond.

aos fee goes from paid to n/a, means case complete .

Morgan,

you mean the actual word 'paid' changes to 'n/a'?

Thanx for your reply.

yes, they ask for very specific dates on the work/education/training topic. I just wonder how strict they are. Unfortunately my laptop and my back up drive are infected by a virus, so all my documents are compromised. ;s So all docs like work contracts and pay slips are unusable, I tossed out all hardcopies long time ago. So I need to be creative on how to retrieve that information......Especially difficult when some companies and faculties are non-existent! Otherwise I would just call.

Oh well, there's one or two minor things I wasn't too sure. As start date I just filled in the first of the month, at least I was sure about the month! :) I signed the ds260 and send it. If they wanna know additional stuff, I will hear it at the interview. I'm confident I filled it in good enough. I'm just wondering, are they really gonna check if so and so attented college in this and that year, in a faculty that is not even there anymore. I don't think it's such a big deal. At least, I hope, lol.
