hello to all vj and non vj members.. I hope someone who can help me out with this one. Ok my problem goes like this. The NVC told me that my case has been already completed on Feb 8, 2007 and tell me to wait another 8 weeks for further instructions so i really dont know what im waiting for .. is it the sched or just another step to do? i really dont know, what i understand this will may really take long and, on the other side i got already my schedule for medical and interview for K3 which are set on April 19 and 26. Hubby decided to go the route of k3 instead of CR-1. The question is what is the next thing to do after you get the k3 visa? Do we have to do it all over again like we did in 130? Or just do the AOS? Im a little bit lost here. I hope someone can enlighten me.. Any suggestions and ideas will be appreciated...

Thanks,

Boo

GREETINGS!

MY OPINION:

I DID FOLLOW THE K3ROUTE AS MY HUSBAND COULD NOT WAIT ANY LONGER FOR US TO BE TOGETHER.

THE BEST PART IS THAT I FLEW RIGHT AWAY DAYS AFTER MY INTERVIEW AND I WAS WITH THE ONE I LOVE!

BUT WITH WITH REGARDS TO PAPER WORK, I WOULD SAY, IF THE CASE IS COMPLETE AND ONLY IS ASKING FOR 8 WEEKS OR SO, I WOULD RATHER WAIT, WHY?

1.I DONT NEED TO DO THE FF:

- EAD APPLICATION INORDER TO WORK

- MAIL AND WAIT FRO APPROVAL

2.

I DONT HAVE TO FILE AOS .

- HASSLE OF COLLECTING MORE DOCUMENTS

- HASSLE OF MAILING AND WORRIED IF IT IS ACCEPTED/REJECTED/ RFE THAT WILLLEAD FOR MORE DELAY.

- PRESENT DURING BIOMETRICS

- AOS INTERVIEW.

AND THE BEST PART IS THAT YOU A GREEN CARD HOLDER ALREADY ,MEANING YOU CAN WORK ETC...NO MORE HASSLE!

You can continue with the K3 process, and then once you're in the US have the NVC switch your CR1 process to AOS. Although, I'm not sure at what stage you're at now with the CR1 and if its too late to turn back. What you could so is go ahead and get the K3 and then return to Phils for the CR1 interview. which may or may not be just a few weeks after the K3.

What exactly did you mean by "NVC said your case is completed"? Are you just waiting on an interview date? You've sent in the affidavit of support fee, and all that other ####### already?

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

Jeff & Boo - since your case is complete at the NVC for the I130, don't give up yet :) You may be able to just switch interviews or it might be a matter of a few weeks and then have a green card, so try to wait a few weeks and see!

Good luck!

Sandy
