Almost 3 weeks since my interview , and i didn't hear anything as of yet. When do you think i should contact the USCIS? By the way, can you please add me to the time chart?

I have been waiting for almost 60 days fir my interview letter and nothing yet. ?

No email or text, no change in online status either. Is anyone else in a similar situation? I am thinking I need to start calling them.

I don't believe there is any meaningful way to get things moving at this stage of the case processing.

Courts have generally agreed that any period of time it takes USCIS to process the case, as long as it's within 2 years, is "reasonable".

Since it's "reasonable", your inquiry is the one which (at least from purely legal stand point) sounds unreasonable.

Therefore, there is not much you cna do to force USCIS to schedule your interview.

However, I aways encourage people to post their stories, share their experiences with their friends, co-workers, and genrally do all you can do to raise awareness.

Some people make ton of money out of taxpayer funds by selling to Gov MATRIX like softwares , which dig into open to public databases, your driving, working and credit records, then use certain mathematical formula to assign you to a certain risk group. It means if you have any out of ordinary pattern in your life style, you can be lumped together with someone with similar "deviation" and assigned a "risk" factor on such finding alone.

Something as innocent as your spending habit or being self-employed or jobless , or whatever else characteristic you share with those individuals who are statistically deemed "troublemakers", can cause a certain "risk assessement" which will send your case for extended review with dozens of background checks , where bunch of GS13 bureaucrats will spend months trying to find out if you are a bad guy. And if you are not a bad guy it means they won;t be finding naything on you, but they will keep looking in hopes that some day they succeed.

This is just one example of how you can get screwed up and never know out why your case fell into a black hole.

There are many other posssible scenarios, and since evidence for those "screw ups" is also anecdotal I won't list them all.

But doing some research on the subject (reading attorneys, scolars, ACLU findings based on FOIA's filings of Court cases, Congressional hearings, investigative journalist reports, books written by specialists and etc.) you can find out on your own how anyone can get seriously screwed in this process (some delayed for as many as 7 years before USCIS issues decision in their case) , with many not having any meaningful remedies until at least 2 years have passed since they initially filed their application.

This is a political problem and also problem indicative of the crisis in the society where fundamental principles this country was built on are more and more ignored as outdated antics by the very population in charge of upholding these values.

Some people get rich or important at our cost, and neither security nor rule of law don't appear to be major factors contributing to this kind of impass 10% of applicants find themselves in.

How long from the time USCIS says they are sending and interview appointment letter and the arrival of the letter. My wife was notified on October 6 and now it is October 20. Two weeks and no letter. Should we be worried?

That is an unusually long time. Call the 1-800 number and ask to speak to a tier 2 officer. While at it, ask the officer to tell you the interview date. I was told even before the letter got to me though mine took 4 days

The way they conducted interview is also well-uniformed, do you think it's just a coincidence? Or they have an interview pattern? Just an opinion, not trying to mislead anybody please.

I just wanted to update my interview this morning. It went pretty well
I went there 15 minutes early and waited in the lobby about 15-20 minutes. My IO is very nice. She introduced herself and outlined what the interview process will be which I think it's very useful and giving me time to prepare myself. She asked me to stand up and raise my right hand to take the oath.

She asked me to show her my GC and passports before asking civics questions:

- What does the President’s Cabinet do?

- If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

- How many U.S. Senators are there?

- We elect a U.S. Senator for how many years?

- How many justices are on the Supreme Court?

- What did the Declaration of Independence do?

Then she asked me to read "When is Columbus day?" and write "Columbus day is in October" down. Next, she went through my N-400 application and asked several questions on parts 1-5 (such as current legal name, current address, the trips outside the US, my job and where I work, etc). Next, she asked the questions on part 11 (yes/no), and asked whether answers I told her are true and correct. I said yes and signed my name on the application (Part 15). She then said I passed the test, welcomed me, and asked me to fill and sign Part 17. Yes!!!!

I'll update once I get a Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony.

The interview questions are computer generated and are uniform across all the USCIS offices for that day.

Something similar to MATRIX is not mere profiling or labeling. It's a lot more sinister, because it has an appearance of scientific and impartial measurment built into it.

You gotta look not at the average nationwide waiting time but at the statistics for your particular office. I live in Houston and based on other VJ members' timelines it's pretty clear that average time is 2+ month for an inverview to be scheduled here, perhaps it's the same for your office. Some offices are just bigger/slower/busier than others for whatever reason, that's all, no need to worry

Could you list out all the dates starting from your GC date, date you sent your N-400 application etc.? Then one of us can add your info to the timeline! Thanks and good luck!

Yes, GC date 09/27/2010 . Application was sent in June 30, and was received by the USCIS in July 5th . Bio-metrics was done on July 30th . Interview letter was sent on AUG 27, and interview was on October 1st.
