I was getting concerned about how I would be able to wait until my Sept. 22nd interview date without going insane with anxiety, and then the Universe decided to solve my problem in a uniquely messed-up way. Over the weekend I was bitten by a venomous brown recluse spider. Talk about the most ironic timing possible! Right now the bite site is at its "red and swollen" stage, and I have been experiencing feverishness and chills. I just hope to God and pray that it doesn't progress to the tissue necrosis stage. The pictures they show on the Internet are just awful. Fingers crossed...

Thank you both! BTW I went to the doctor today and he insisted it was not a spider bite but a MRSA skin infection. Doesn't sound much better to me!!! Anyways, he didn't seem particularly alarmed, he just prescribed me an antibiotic and sent me away. We'll see. All I'm asking for is a boring, uneventful life ... is that too much to ask, LOL!

On August 24th I was notified that my interview has been scheduled!! I should be getting the notice with the date and time soon!!

My wife's USCIS case status says that they have started the interview scheduling process. Should we be excited or should we remain calm? Excited means we will open a bottle of champagne. Clam, not so much.

deni81, thanks for the insight. Paula and I both are sick of the waiting too. More so of the repetitive check, finger prints, etc. How many copies of finger prints do they really need?

And, again the whole scheduling seems unigue - even though Boston office took 2-3 weeks to sc hedule 5 people I know of in the last month I am still not scheduled.

As far as fingerprints - they need them on each application. It is not a step that takes a lot though - it takes 48 hours on average to have your fingerprints cleared. The real wait is at the local office when you wait in line hoping a date and time for you comes quick. Good luck to you too.

I wish they had more options for expedite request.

On uscis page it says that Anchorage are working on cases from January! But yesterday when I had my fingerprinting I popped my head in and asked how long my wait would be to have my interview and the lady told me I would have it within a month or two. She told me that the processing times on uscis web page are never correct!

Wow, 5000 people naturalized at each ceremony in LA! In comparison only around 2,500 are naturalized during the entire YEAR in Kansas each year. Shows you how the numbers vary ... although I assume the LA office should be bigger than the one in Kansas City.
