Just trying to figure it out, so lets get a little thread on this. I've seen people posting all around about this but its hard to search for it!

I know mozplay had her interview Jan 17 and received it Jan 19...

Any others from January ?

Jersey Girl's husband, IIRC, 2 days after his interview date as well.

AOS & EAD Timeline

2007-04-16: I-485 and I-765 sent to Chicago (My AOS/EAD checklist)

2007-04-17: Received at Chicago

2007-04-23: NOA1 date (both)

2007-05-10: Biometrics appointment (both - Biometrics review)

2007-06-05: AOS interview letter date

2007-06-13: AOS interview letter received in mail

2007-07-03: EAD card production ordered

2007-07-07: EAD card received! (yay!)

2007-08-23: AOS interview (Documents / Interview review)

2007-08-23: Green card production ordered!!!

2007-08-24: Welcome notice mailed!

2007-08-27: Green card production ordered again... ?

2007-08-28: Welcome notice received!

2007-09-01: Green card received!

Done with USCIS until May 23, 2009!

From my readings on VJ, they seem to arrive rather fast, in a couple of days!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Interview Jan 23rd, recieved visas Jan 25th.

I-129F sent: August 18th, 2006

NOA2: October 2nd, 2006

Packet 3 returned to Mtl: October 26th, 2006.

Medical: January 10th, 2007

Interview: January 23rd, 2007, at 2:30. APPROVED

Entry to the US: Feb 28th, 2007 POE Ivy Lea

Married: March 2nd, 2007

AOS/EAD sent May 4th, 2007

NOA1s for all 3 AOS and my EAD May 14th, dated for May 10th

EAD touched May 28th,29th, 2007, Youngest daughter's AOS touched May 29th, 2007

Biometrics: May 30th, 2007

All cases touched May 31, 2007, June 5th, 2007, August 1st, 2007

All 3 AOS transferred to California July 5th, 2007

EAD Approved July 27th, 2007

Finally movement on my AOS, touched on Feb 22 & 24th

GC May 11 2008, date of april 29th on them.

Interview on January 16th in Montreal, Recieved Visa on the 18th :) Quick and easy... (except for Canada Post and their apparent lack of ability in reading the address onthe express envelope... it was delivered 1/2 block down the street and the lady in the office had already OPENED the envelope - thank the LORD it wasn't the medical envelope she opened), and she ended up calling me instead of sending the visa back to Montreal which was and Additional blessing). Good luck, it happened to me once in 2007 so I doubt it could happen to anyone else for at least another year!

AOS:

2007-02-22: Sent AOS /EAD

2007-03-06 : NOA1 AOS /EAD

2007-03-28: Transferred to CSC

2007-05-17: EAD Card Production Ordered

2007-05-21: I485 Approved

2007-05-24: EAD Card Received

2007-06-01: Green Card Received!!

Removal of Conditions:

2009-02-27: Sent I-751

2009-03-07: NOA I-751

2009-03-31: Biometrics Appt. Hartford

2009-07-21: Touched (first time since biometrics) Perhaps address change?

2009-07-28: Approved at VSC

2009-08-25: Received card in the mail

Naturalization

2012-08-20: Submitted N-400

2013-01-18: Became Citizen

omg Im so glad to hear all this. So its 2 days for everybody!

Oh well I was stressing out here. My interview is on April 4th.

We were planning on him driving to Montreal on April 12th and we would be back in Chicago on the 16th. (Plus we need to go through customs with a specific appointement during the week days cause I am exporting a snake and we need a special officer to be there to inspect it) The thing is his son's birthday is on the 17th, but waiting after that date to pick me up and I think with the SSN and everything we would not make it in time for our wedding on May 12.

I dont want to miss his son's birthday, neither does he, but we dont want to mess up our wedding date cause its a really important anniversary for us, and its on a saturday.

So, do you all think that having the interview on April 4th and leaving on April 12th I have more than enough time to receive my visa ?

Thank you very much....damn i cant wait to stop stressing for everything. When we have a good news there is always something on the other side to turn it wrong.

It will go just fine.. you are realistic in your expectations from my experience :) Read my Signature... that's why I have it... to REMIND myself.. that things don't always go from bad to worse :)

Hey Mephys - I just think it's great you met your guy on an MMORPG like me and RT:p It even looks like we got engaged pretty much at the same time. I definitely look to your timeline in hopes it will be similar for me. Our wedding date is planned in October though. I can't wait to take Artie back home to Chicagoland. One can only hope :P

oh well, so we are doing it like I said, he would be coming on the 12th, but we would leave on the 16th. Gives me 7 business days to receive the Visa!

And we are about to confirm our minister for our May 12th wedding :) !!!!!

OMG finally something real!

01/03/07 - returned AoS Fee Bill via Priority Mail (James' shortcut)

01/15/07 - NVC generated AOS package

01/22/07 - received IV Fee Bill - overnighted back to NVC same day

01/29/07 - DS230 generated (phone system not updated, email response 2/5/07)

02/20/07 - CASE COMPLETE!!
