US embassy in London appintment times

Hello All,

I had my medical today and all went nice and smooth. The people were very friendly and doctor was also very pleasant. @Munafn and Sbai my advise to you both is to tell your other half to book a early morning appointment so that they can be in and out quicker. The location not far from Bond Street station. Make sure to gather everything before you attending. The documents required are:

• 4 photographs for each person attending
• Vaccination record
• Passport
• Police Certificate and
• Medical Questionnaire

How long did it take you to complete everything?

Were you waiting long to be seen by the doctor and did they give you the results of your medical immediately?

Also did they hand you a white envelope to be given to the embassy?

My appointment was at 9.10am and I was out within 40min and that is the reason why I advised you guys to book morning appointment so that it will be in and out as they open at 9.00am and you will be the first customer to be seen .

Were you waiting long to be seen by the doctor and did they give you the results of your medical immediately?

The waiting was not long. The first thing you do is fill out a form and return to reception then you get called for a chest x-ray then if there is a missing vaccination on your record the nurse will call you and do that. After all this the doctor calls you and do all the blood pressure, height, weight, eye test, and take a blood. The do not give you the medical result immediately and the reception told me that I should hear from them by Friday.

Also did they hand you a white envelope to be given to the embassy?

They did not hand me any envelope and I was told that they will send my result to the embassy within four working days.

I am finally able to relate to this thread a lot better now that we've got our IL. I'm going to call the medical place tomorrow. This thread was very helpful as it had everything all in one place.

It is not requirement to take it and when I attended my appointment she did not ask me to provide it means it is not a requirement.However, I took it just in case if they did. Anyways, the Interview letter (P4) will be sent to you within five days. When your wife is booking the medical the only question they ask her over the phone is to provide her case number, name, interview date, email address to confirm the date and time.The medical is quite straight forward process and do not worry too much about it. Tell your wife to take the necessary documents I have listed before and the best tip I can offer is to tell her to go and look for the place the day before so that she does not struggle when her appointment is due unless she is taking a black cap as they have they knowledge . I hope I have answered all your questions and wish your wife the very best of luck and if you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask. P.S Don't forget to fill the medical questionnaire before and all vaccination are up to date.

Thank you Habel! Yes that was most helpful. My wife just finished her medicals today lol. She called this morning and they said it's either today or later in the month which would have been too late. Quickly dashed to london. She was done in an hour. They did ask for the letter though hehe. But they didn't give any issues. The letter came today though so we are all good.

That was very quick and I am very happy for you. As I mentioned before the medical is the easiest part of the process and now the waiting game has begun for the interview (Welcome on board ). I will let you know the interview process once I have mine. I am a bit nervous but there is nothing to worry about but as you know anything regarding any interview is terrifying . All the best of luck with the interview and I hope you find a suitable place to move in and we also bought a house recently so everything is getting exciting now.

@Munafn, I forgot to give you one other tip ,which is to check the embassy website more frequently in case of time change as it happened in June and July. All the best of luck with the interview. who is buying a drink then for the good news lol. I suppose we should wait for Sbai to get hers then we decide.

Thanks habel and yes the medical was relatively easy compared to everythng else lol. And thanks for the tip. I've bookmarked the website and will frequently check for updates. Hopefully we don't get hit with a time change.
