Good morning all,

My case was updated again today, but case is still in AP. :(

Any updates for anyone else?

I am excited that your updates are coming now! We finally got an update today after two and a half weeks. Just one day at a time!

Well, so far we got updates on August 29th, 30th, and 31st. We were hoping for a status change today, but not yet.

My fiance thinks it will go straight to "Issued" because he's seen more immigrant visas, but I'm looking for it to change to "Ready". We will see which one is right! Lol! :)

Yeah, strangely enough. The Kabul embassy is closed on Fridays and Saturdays, but we've gotten updates in the past on Friday and Saturdays before. So our Sunday update isn't too unusual because that's the start of the Kabuli workweek, but I'm glad for it! I don't know if it's someone touching our file, or some automatic processing that has updated the case.

We're hopeful that September is our month, but the 7th is also a US federal holiday. That may pause the process or the embassy may issue a large amount of visas this week. The US embassy employees may take leave during the weekend, but the Afghan workers may still give out the visas on Sunday the 6th and Tuesday the 8th. Who knows. But ceac.gov shows that the Kabul embassy likes to issue visas at the beginning of the month. Hopefully, hopefully!

Our case changed to "Ready" today! With a K-1 visa, that means our visa should be issued tomorrow!

It's really coming at the perfect time because of a few different things going on with the family - dad's health, needing to move soon, etc. Besides the updates I mentioned above, we got one more update on September 2nd, but after USEM operating hours. Both of us checked it after 5 PM Kabul time. The case updated when I was at work; after the embassy was closed.

Hi Amhara, I have been in AP for a month and half . The body msg changed from / to or but it changed again to / after recent update. Can you pls tell me if your last AP msg showed a / or (or)

Regards

Hi Sja,

Yes, it's a positive sign. I am in a Facebook group for a different US visa and they have experienced it like we have experienced it. When that happens, you will get a call to drop off your passport soon. I think our message changed July 25th, we had gotten the call to drop off the passport on August third and our NIV status changed to "Ready" on September 3rd. So it is positive, but you may wait some more weeks.

I made a post about this here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/558671-ap-message-body-change/
