Advocate...Unfortunately the CO officer told you correct. Once your case goes to AP it could take days, weeks, months or even years. My husbands interview on June 4, 2015 and he has been in AP since then. They asked him for additional documentation. They received everything within 2 weeks but we are still waiting. Just have patience and Inshallah you will get visa soon. Just keep praying :)

The good thing, Advocate, is that you are probably tentatively approved. They need to make sure you really can be given the visa with background checks and such. A previous post on this thread about SAO's helped us understand a bit more.

My fiance was told our AP is almost over and he dropped off his passport August 6th, but alas, our AP is still ongoing. By searching case numbers in ceac.gov, I think the Kabul embassy tends to issue visas the beginning of the month. We have September in mind, but we don't know.

Nadiah, I hope that recent update is good news for you soon!

I got another update today. But like always, case is still in AP.

How many days in a row have you gotten case updates? Mine was updated 3 days in a row (ap) then 4th was ready!

Hello guys I just read your story and they r similar to mine . I would like to share my story so you guys could help me or give me some advice . I have been so stress thinking about it . My case is CR1

First of all , I have completed the interview around 51 days ago . My interview processing went smoothly with a CO. He did not asked me many question . Just the basic and simple question . After the interview is completed he gave me the pink paper it say ( No other information is needed at this time . We must conduct an administrative review of your case . We will contact you after our review is completed . You may check your the current statue of your case by visiting website ...... Www.CEAC ) . He gave me back the passport but he keep all my evident of relationship . And CO told me that right now he doesn't need any other paper or document from me and I don't need to take any action .All I have to do is to wait until they contact me. And he told me to check current case statue on website . what it make me so worry is CO did not tell me that I will my visa is approve or denied :( .

I checked my current statue on website it is on AP since the day I had interview No statue date updated .

35 days later from the interview day , my husband called and emailed to asked them how is my case going ? They replied by email saying that AP might take around 60 days . I noticed that my statue update date is changed often : 19 aug, 25 aug , 27 aug . Is it a good sign ? Any idea if my visa will be approve ?

Thank you I am waiting to see your comment .

Theara, when your case goes to AP the CO generally will not provide you with any information other than the fact that your case is is AP. AP is a refusal under 221g which means that it is being refused because your case needs further processing or more documentation. Usually most AP refusals are turned over and a visa is issued. You just have to be patient. AP can last days, weeks, months or years. Hopefully no ones AP will last long. Just keep praying and your visa will be issued soon. If your case is being updated that is always a good thing. It means that they are actually taking time to look at your case. Hopefully we will all have visa issued soon. Just track your case and be posititve :)
